Definitely wish we had tons of great options but they're all mostly mediocre. The only one I can vouch and give an 9/10 rating is Ying Li but it's literally half a mile from the Mexican border in San Ysidro. It's ridiculous good though. Check it out http://www.yelp.com/biz/ying-li-restaurant-san-ysidro

Honestly Chinese isn't great here. We've got a couple szechuan places (Spicy City, FuAn) As for dim sum, the typical places are Emerald, Jasmine, Pearl and China Max (they don't push the carts around at China Max, you order the items you want and I do believe it's slightly more expensive than the others) Dumpling Inn is alright... kinda overrated but not bad. I have yet to go to it since it's become Shanghai Saloon or whatever. Sam Woo is my go to for take out.. although I haven't tried that many takeout places here.. it's just convenient. Noble Chef is more HK style? kind of overpriced IMO Personally, I like going to Yu's Garden. It's not amazing or anything but it's more of what I'm used to (Taiwanese) Make a drive to the 626 area in LA for better Chinese food when you get a chance ;)
