We went a few weeks back and stayed in the Crowne Plaza Times Sq. Great location. This group has lots of tips and advice if you need to ask anything. https://m.facebook.com/groups/653376801416793

Westin Grand Central, 32 nd Street - 3 rd Avenue. Directly opposite Grand Central station and Chrysler building. Really central and only a 10 minute walk to Times Square. Really wouldn't recommend staying in Times Square, think it's really overrated and you can't get cabs from and to there very easily as it's always so busy. Xx
Chloe V. replied:
Grand Hyatt is lovely
Nina P. replied:
The Roosevelt in midtown just round the corner from Grand Central Station

Premier Inn Five Bells is reasonable luv and even The Bell in Horndon is not as expensive as u'd think it is. For my 40 th people found it cheaper to stay at Travelodge Festival Leisure n share a cab to Stanford x

Fig Tree Bay beautiful area in Protaras with Hotel right on the beach and away from the crowds.
Jo G. replied:
Capo Bay in Protaras is truly beautiful and right on the beach. We go every year. Totally in love with the hotel and area xx
Paul M. replied:
Generally the beaches are better on the Northern side of the island but that is a bit difficult to get there, you have to land in Turkey before you can go to the North side. The Paphos area itself doesn’t have decent beaches, they are a little further up the coast at Coral Bay. Paphos itself has plenty to offer, from high end stuff to cheap and cheerful. At the cheaper end we stayed at The Avanti Village which is a short walk to the main bar area and it was basic but good, and our favourite in that area is the Louis King Jason. It’s just a shame it isn’t closer to the main town. We have been to Cyprus a lot, it’s probably my favourite holiday island and personally I prefer the Protaras end, with plenty of good beaches at that end, and nightlife too. As for what accommodation you want obviously depends on your budget. Last May (and next May too as we thought it was that good and we rarely go the same place) we were at The Sunrise Pearl in Protaras. Right on the beach and top notch, but it comes at a price.
Tina R. replied:
Only 40 mins on bus to Aiya Napa from Protarus...for lovely beaches and restaurants too
Brenda T. replied:
Northern Cyprus is a lot cheaper than the South and has better beaches. No Euro but Turkish Lira...lots of nice hotels on the beach. Look up Cyprus Paradise, they have a lot of offers on at the moment. X

Also do you want an apartment or a hotel? An apartment you could each have your own room for privacy. Are you the sort of people who dont leave the complex or do you go off and explore? Theres so many options. If you are DIY’ing it, Ive used bookcyprus.com several times, the site is part of Tui.
