Ill have to try him! We have came to Dr. Huxford twice and both times were a nightmare!! I had a 10 min conversation with them the last time and told them to change Kelsey's last name. They made copies of the paper wk and every thing. We seriously had a discussion how important this was....when we get here, what do they call her.. Kelsey Gowen!! Ugh! I hate this place!! I'm a paying customer get it right!

Huxford and Lockhart are pediatric dentists in Starkville and awesome!!! I live in Columbus but take my daughter to them because Dr. Lockhart is amazing with her.

Dr Curtis in columbus is terrible!!!!! My daughter went to him when she was 3 because her 4 front teeth had cavities. I went to dr Mitchell in Ackerman first and they told me I had to go to a pediatric dentist. So I went to Curtis. His office is fancy he dresses expensive and makes your think you are getting the best service. Well he told us she would have to go to the hospital because of her age. He wouldn't put her on the schedule until we paid full amount up front, $1200! (This does not include the money you have to pay to the hospital). So after her four front teeth were capped we went back for check up, I was concerned about a spot on the next tooth. Guess what, another cavity! So he said we would do fluoride treatments until she was old enough to have it fixed in the office. We drove an hour one way every six weeks for them to brush some fluoride on that one tooth. 6 months later I was brushing her teeth and blood came up from the middle of her bottom tooth. I was shocked, because teeth don't bleed. I wiped the blood off and watched it, blood came up from the middle again! I called doctor, went up there the next day, and he told me ALL of her teeth had cavities and ALL Of them would need to be capped and the 4 on the bottom would need I be removed! Then he wanted to know if I was still giving her apple juice I drink!!! They wanted $1800 that day to schedule the procedure! I called dr Huxford! She did it for us and asked me over and over "when's the last time she was at dentist". During the surgery, they had to come and tell me that the cavity was left under one of the capped teeth and now the tooth was so bad it had to be removed, then when it was over with they told me she had two abscessed teeth and had to have two root canals done!!!! I can't even imagine how much pain my daughter must have been in! After it was over with dr Huxford looked at the X-rays Curtis took of my daughters teeth when he capped the front four and she pointed to all the cavities that Evee had! They were there and he did nothing about it!!!! I really wish they would take his licenses away! He is a terrible dentist and person!

I'm sorry for the long post, but I get so upset when I see others recommending this awful dentist! Please, whatever you do, do not use him! And I would encourage all of you who use Dr Curtis to look for another dentist!

I really don't feel like I'm bashing, I am telling what happened to my daughter. I went back to try to get answers and he basically said, sorry but not sorry. He took no responsibly for what happened. I do not blame him for my daughter having cavities. I blame him for letting it get THAT bad! Two root canals and two abscessed teeth, when we were going every six WEEKS!!! How does that even happen?!? Every single dentist I have talked to about this situated is shocked that he did not do anything about the other cavities that were visible on the X-rays that HE took. And I have been told that there are more parents who have had similar things happen to their kids that were patients of dr Curtis. If your child is going I have perfect teeth, then he might be able to take care of them. But if your child is not blessed with good teeth, Then you need to go somewhere else. My daughter is now 9 we have been using dr Huxford ever since. She has not had anymore problems, she has several adult teeth and no cavities so far. I have two younger sons 6 & 4 and they have had no cavities either! Dr Huxford is a wonderful Christian woman who is very thorough and concerned with preventative care. I have a valid reason to think he is a terrible dentist, and a person who doesn't take responsibility when they make a mistake and tries to blame it on the parent, "are you still giving her apple juice"!!!!

Mary Huxford**. Her hubby is a dr in starkville too. She is a pediatric dentist. She's great. I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Curtis as a child. There's also a great pediatric dentist in Tupelo if you don't like either of these!

I honestly didn't even think about Mitchell Dental and that's who I have always used for myself. Haha! Thank yall!

Dr. Huxford doesn't require a referral. My daughter is 3 and won't even sit still for a haircut and they were awesome with her!

The best actual pediatric dentist in our area is Dr. Curtis in Columbus. I went to Dr. Curtis from 3 until 18. He did my braces, everything. I love him and his staff. My son went to him for the first time to the dentist ever this summer and he loved him and the office. Dr. Diaz is a nice guy, but has on outdated office. He completely messed up my first two fillings when I was 19. I would definitely not take a child to him.

Dr Curtis was my dentist and I'd still go to him if he'd take a 30 year old: )

Dr. Balzli is our choice for a dentist. Amazing patience with my hyper sensitive kids.
