Great way to get away from heel striking is to check out Altrazerodrop.com. They have some awesome videos that teach the fundamentals of running. Also, running in Altras has eliminated literally every running injury I've ever had. Don't want to buy new shoes? Try a runners knot.

Get fitted at a running store to see what kind of shoes you need, then order your shoes from Roadrunnersports.com and join their VIP club (it's only 1.99 the first year). You can buy shoes, try them for 90 days and if they cause problems, return within the 90 day for a full refund. You can order 2 or 3 pairs, try them all for a while, see which ones you like, then return the others. They have great sales too!

I have the exact same issues with Asics Kayanos and other models of Asics. They're great shoes but the heel liner wears through after 3-4 weeks. I believe it's related to having pointy heels, and where Asics seams the liner together. After trying 4...See More
