In that case add a balancer? Feed companies are very good at selling their products - over feeding youngsters can lead to a lot of issues in later life, with natives/cobs especially at risk as they have particularly efficient digestive tracts. I took on a yearling that was essentially a toast-rack - also a cob, popped him out on decent grass - and within a few weeks you could see the improvement, two months later was unrecognisable and normal weight. As long as the worming regime is good and there are no issues with the teeth - 'Dr Green' is difficult to beat
