Al Fulford Heating and Air has always done ours...personal home at the beach, and the ones we have built, etc. They are great!! We've been friends with Al, Marty, Justin...all so nice...for as long as we've been at Holden Beach!

I had to do a total a/c conversion and did my homework and research and ended up using American Air - 755-5660. I am so happy with my choice in a/c contractor and the fantastic job they did. They showed up on time each day, worked long into the day, an d I couldn't be happier with the price or their work ethics. I highly recommend you give them a call just to get an estimate. Do your research and compare prices, warranties, etc.
Need a long term rental in Oak island Southport area. Landlord sold the house weve been in the last two years and we have to move. It's a horrible time to find rentals...
Anyone out there willing to share recent (during last year or so) experience having to replace HVAC units on the beach? Cost, size unit, satisfaction with job, etc....

Al Al Montgomery-BEMC offers low interest financing loans to members. Well worth checking in to. Fulford Heat & Air is who we use. Very reliable company

Don Bouldin is a saint and very, very honest and dependable. His staff is top notch. We have had two units installed in the last three years. One unit downstairs three years ago that was installed right before rental season began and another unit upstairs that Dons company installed last early spring. They covered our entire upstairs with protective coverings to protect the furniture and carpet and they installed new ducting upstairs. The unit is a powerhouse and is less shear than the one downstairs. If am sure if the other contractor we used had installed new ducting the 15 shear downstairs would be much more efficient. BTW ....BEMC will finance any large home repair project up to 6 k. Keep that in mind for new roofs, AC/heat/hot water tanks etc. They roll it into your monthly bill. It helped us finance the first unit and the second one we had to cough up the money. I had time to price shop so I shopped contractors and asked around.
Greg S. replied:
Apparently Bouldin will not replace an HVAC condenser unless the owner agrees to replace ductwork also. At least, that's what he told me and has been confirmed multiple times by others. In the end we chose Fulford due to price, financing options, and their willingness do what we wanted without extra add-ons. I recommend telling them before work begins if you don't want a Fulford-branded thermostat. They put their branding label on thermostats by default unless you ask them not to. Just my $0.02.
