My husband built a bunch of these beds http://diydiva.net/2013/04/raised-garden-beds-the-holy-shit-edition/ super cheap! They've held up just fine. We even took them with us when we moved and this year will be I think the 4 th season with them. We just used dirt from the yard and brought in a truck load of chicken n chips form dejongs in redmond to mix into it.

Dunn Lumber. I'd be careful about pressure treated lumber because some nasty stuff can leach out and you probably don't want to eat that.
