Well, I don't know what kind of wedding you are doing, but I'm getting married in December and we are using Johnston's Meat Market. http://www.johnstonsmeatmarket.com My sister used them as well for her wedding in 2013 and they were great. Congrats on your engagement.

Black Fig or Andrews! Both do great work and have been around for awhile!

A friend of mine owns Truly Scrumptious, a small catering outfit that specializes in local, organic, and some vegan/gluten-free options. He's based in Thomasville, but does most of his events in Tallahassee. It's a new-ish business, but he gets good reviews and is a very creative chef. http://www.atrulyscrumptiouschef.com/home.html

Red Elephant catered my wedding and we had a great experience. They weren't on-site, though. We had a few family friends pick it up for us and it was a buffet style, so everyone served themselves. I recently went to a morning wedding where Uptown Cafe catered and it was really great. Andrews has also done a good job at a few weddings I've been to, but I've heard they can be a bit pricey. Best of luck and congrats!
Cheaper Venues for a wedding reception? Hey all I’m getting married next year and my fiancé and I are looking to have a smaller wedding (Max 75 people) in the...

That might be tough to do for space large enough for 75 people including food but my general tips are below:
* If you can have it on a Friday instead of Saturday, it will save you a few hundred at the venue usually
* A place you can bring your own alcohol is better because you can get some cases of beer from Costco and some of the $3 wine from Trader Joe's and leave it at that
* Catering food from one of your fav restaurants will usually be cheaper than a "wedding or party" caterer
* Think of nontraditional wedding spaces/venues. And maybe even call around and ask prices for a "party" instead of a wedding. Unfortunately, lots of vendors automatically bump up price when you mention a wedding

Dorothy B. Oven park could work You'll still run into the "old house smaller rooms" problem so many local venues are afflicted by, but I've hosted a few Corporate events on fairly small budgets with good results

The front porch? Did a residency graduation there so it should fit 75 and it was pretty. Not sure about the pricing.

Tallahassee Garden Club is a nice venue and might suit your needs. Saturday is kinda pricey, but Friday looks good: [http://tallahasseegardenclub.com/rentals/](http://tallahasseegardenclub.com/rentals/)

Local Wedding Photographer here. Not 100% sure of the pricing, but here are a few of the cheaper options. - Woman’s Club - Dogwood Plantation - Old Willis Dairy - Retreat at Bradley’s Pond - Lake Iamonia As far as catering goes, it can easily get out of hand. We’ve seen 4 Rivers do a great job. Even Sonny’s and Moe’s can do a good job on the cheap. We’ve also seen some food truck catering as well as a paella team that is quite tasty. Truthfully guests just want some good grub and fancy isn’t necessarily good. If you are looking for a photographer, check us out at [Kylene & Ryan Studios](http://kyleneandryan.com/blog/)

You could try Dorothy B Oven. Additionally, if you’re looking for catering, Klassic Katering is probably the best in Tallahassee.

Have you looked into The Barn at Old Willis Dairy Farm? It is on Centerville Road near Native Nurseries.

Also, talk to Andrews for Catering or for Sonya Luxe Catering. Both of them will work within your budget and they're both wonderful to converse with. I'm still looking for an officiant here in town as well, so if you hear anything, let me know! We're hosting ours at Mission san Luis. There's a good honeymooning B&B in Monticello - I can't think of the name though. Looking for a stylist for hair and make up as well..
