Just a few questions. Where can I get my mares color tested (my vet has no clue) ? Also is my mare black? Sometimes she looks brown some times she looks silvery and is...

It's Strange sometimes, because to be a Tobiano they say the White has to go over their Shoulder and Rump, but what about some very Minimal Tobiano's that are almost a Solid Color with just White Stockings, I seen one the Other day who I know is a Tobiano as his Sire is Homozygous for it, and he was Completely Solid all over his Body with Big White Stockings but no other White on him except for a 50 pence piece size little bit of white on his lower thigh, so where does this leave the Theory about White Covering their Backs then, What some People call Overo are in fact SW Horses, over here in the UK this Horse would be called Splashed White.

www.horsetesting.com..very informative web site....$25 for a red factor test...will tell you if she is truly black....test her also for the Lethal white gene...LWO...so if decide to breed ,you will know in advance.... very pretty mare, you are very lucky.
Teresa R. replied:
Cheval International sells a line of black vitamins & conditioners to put the true black in and the sun burn brown tinge out.

I see a bueatiful black frame overo.... I see no sign of another pattern. Only way to be sure is to test. Animal genetics are fast and cheap. Here's the website http://www.horsetesting.com/Equine/Equine_Index.asp

This explains it very well. Some with mild dandruff but others can develop history of secondary infections because it is an auto-immune disease. It cannot be cured only bred out. http://www.animalgenetics.us/Canine/Genetic_Disease/ICH.asp

Douxo Seborrhea Mousse has worked wonders for Gunner. You rub it into their fur dry.

If you plan to breed, DNA testing for your little one would be helpful. This is a link to one of the least expensive labs to test for Ict. https://www.animalgenetics.us/#_
Dog care recommendations- vet, daycare, grooming Figured I’d check Reddit for recommendations. Looking for a good vet, doggie daycare/boarders, and groomer in town....
Rehauu replied:
I use Paws & Claws, as does the humane society. Dr. Figlio and Dr. Davidson are amazing and really care. They also have late hours and take walk-ins. For boarding, I've had good experiences with Pet Paradise several times now.
Maykitsune replied:
Southwood pet resort has group playtime with other dogs they're also a vet office so if anything happens to your pup there are vets there to check on them.

The daughter of one of my coworkers is a vet tech at Lake Jackson Animal Hospital. I took my cats to them for a while and thought they did a great job. Unfortunately, I live on the opposite side of town from them. My coworker’s daughter recommended Buck Lake Animal Hospital. I’ll start taking my cats to them for their next annual exam. I do not recommend Mahan Animal Clinic. The care my older cat received there was fine, but a friend and former vet tech there experienced some really awful working conditions, and I find it difficult to support a business that would treat its employees the way they did.

My puppy goes to Doggie Dayz and I've had good experiences with them so far. In terms of vet, I take both my dogs to Timberlane. They can be pricey but have been great about squeezing me in for appointments.

I’ve taken in some foster pets since moving here and both Paws & Claws and Buck Lake Animal Hospital donate services for the Leon County Humane Society and other local rescue/foster pet groups. I’ve taken pets to both of them and found their vets and entire staff to be very pleasant, helpful, and compassionate. Definitely people who love animals. Had previously taken my own cat to Timberlake Animal Hospital and while I don’t have a specific complaint, their fees were higher and I didn’t get the same warm atmosphere. Now taking my cat to Buck Lake.

Summer Tryon, he's been throwing up for months now off and on and runny stool. Won't eat at times from being nacious. Our vet gave him antibiotic and wet rx food and he was fine for a few days but it's back now.

I would for sure call Capital Vet Specialist and make an Appt with Dr. Walker.

Who is your regular Vet? I have worked for some over the years . If you just want to try regular vet first instead of the specialist I would call Bannermanpetcare and see Dr. Thabes893-2043 she is truly the best .
Please does anyone have an idea of any cheap private vet around my dog needs a check up
Nora P. replied:
North FL Animal is not cheap ordinarily, but they have a coupon for $5 off first visit on their home page, at the bottom, of their website (http://nflah.com/wp/). I think visits are around $60 each. It's not cheap but they are a WONDERFUL vet. Good luck! :)

Looking for a good VSO in the Cleveland, Ohio area for my Father in Law. He is a Vietnam Era Vet and is suffering from Agent Orange Exposure and Water Contamination.
Chris A. replied:
I'm not a VSO in Cleveland (I work for a law firm) but wanted to give you a tip: "suffering from Agent Orange Exposure and Water Contamination" isn't considered a disability. The disability is what disease(s) your FIL suffers from that was CAUSED by the AO and water exposure. If you have trouble connecting the exposure to his current disabilities, feel free to PM me, or ask in my Chemical Exposure group! https://www.facebook.com/groups/530086097152365/
Debbie L. replied:
If you don't get any help from that area (I'm in Kansas City, MO) look up the nearest Vietnam Veterans of America chapter, or VFW, or check to see if Ohio has a state Veterans Commission. I would check them out in the order I listed them. The VSO my Marine chose from Missouri's Veterans Commission did not know about Camp Lejeune's toxic water...but she is learning from us! I have completed allot of research for angiosarcoma of the liver from vinyl chloride for my Marine's appeal. Look up your FIL's disease/cancer and look up chemicals that were at C.L.. ATSDR (under the CDC) is one of the best places to start for the water contamination. They have quarterly meetings, or so, with Camp Lejeune Community Assistance Panel (CAP). Here is a couple of links for you to research on the water: https://lejeunecap.wordpress.com/ also: http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/sites/lejeune/ and: http://www.atsdr.cdc.gov/sites/lejeune/capmeetings.html I sure hope I helped you in one way or another! God Bless your Father in law, you and your family.

I have been going to Lake Vet Clinic since 2008. 3 dogs and 2 cats. Yes you have to wait. It is 1 st come 1 st served. Get in line BEFORE THEY open at 8 am etc.Or get in line early for afternoon visits. My 2 yr old puppy has reactions to shots and we pre medicate him now that we know. The most expensive thing at any vet is getting all preventive medicines. Heart worm, Fleas etc. other then that I have really liked them all. Don't always get to see the same vet. I have seen all of them at different visits though.
