Have you looked on care.com ? You can enter in everything that you want in a daycare provider and it will give you results.

Thank you all for your input. Jana, I will absolutely check into asccaz.org. Linda, I agree that licensed isn't always better...I am finding that out very quickly. However, I went through the process of being licensed years ago in Michigan, and it was a good experience. A lot of classes on child development and putting yourself out there to be critiqued in regard to safety, etc. Not that I would ever expect that just because a person is licensed is going to follow the guidelines- I just think that someone who has gone that extra mile to get licensed is very serious about their responsibility. I am not opposed to finding someone who isn't licensed...if it's the right person.

You can call Child Care Resource and Referral1 800 308 9000 or go to their webpage..http://www.arizonachildcare.org/
Cheryl A. replied:
Glynis Garelick.. did that.. its not as easy as one would think because of the CPS involvement and what they pay. Looks like we may go with Kindercare because they will; transport the Kindergartner and its $20 a week per child out of my pocket. I know that sound cheep ..but considering they are not giving us any monies for this, its crazy we should have to pay for any part of their daycare. They DID tell us if we could find someone to just take the contracted amount, then we would not have to pay.. but I called 20 places yesterday and that just does not exist (at least in my area).. Once we get the boys in a situated, we will look at licensing, but that will take a few months at least.

Gethsemane Lutheran private school is very affordable. Tenured staff. Love it there. They take kids 2 and up. Can still be in diapers.
Kate B. replied:
Not sure if it is an option for you but QualityFirstAZ.com has incredible daycare scholarships that we qualified for the first year of our daughter's daycare journey. The website has lots of details on the centers that offer it and how to obtain one. We love Next Horizons!! In case it is a factor, they do mirror the Tempe School District in terms of winter and spring breaks. Best of luck!

Betty Spears is a local not for profit centre that offers child focussed services, Many of the staff have been with the centre for a long time and the continuity is great for kids. I have one kid at Betty's and my eldest went there. Our experience has been a good one.
