Alan Stewart was my grandfather's nephew & my mother's first cousin. Great memories going to the store for my art supplies.

Wow, yes Uncle Lee's. I do remember that association with the original Stewart's, and I hadn't had the memory of Uncle Lee's brought up until now. Thanks for that. Yeah, mom and I would hit the library. I remember a crotchety old librarian named Mrs. Crocker. We probably walked around the corner to Stewart's where she'd park me in front of the paint shaker while she shopped for oil paints (amazing how you'd never leave your kid in a store unattended now but it happened all the time back then) and then maybe a stop at Uncle Lee's if I'd been good. I got in trouble at Hancock Fabrics one day because I was hiding behind bolts of fabric and sticking a hand out when people would walk by. It's the only time in my life I've had my hand out Phyllis Irish, I swear. Kathy Davee Taylor I'd appreciate a current photo of where the original Stewart's was.
