Pentax K-series is a DSLR with excellent reviews. Olympus also makes excellent cameras.

It sounds like your camera uses an EVF electronic viewfinder as opposed to the standard optical/mirror combination of most DSLR's. So it could be some electrical/computer problem in the camera causing you to have to shoot "blind". Before buying a new camera be sure to consider the kinds of pictures you like to take.
