Also the waterfront greeting the ships that stop there and meeting the Fort Dalles Floozies; Sunshine Mill - movies there in the summer (I think); Sorosis Park for picnics; The Dalles Art Center, a good place to enjoy the artwork by locals -perhaps to show your photos. Klindt's Booksellers, oldest continuous operating bookstore in Oregon. Watch for top of the line musical events through Hebring House and held at the Old St. Peter's Landmark next year.

Mid-Columbia Medical Center (our hospital), Oregon Veteran’s Home, all the local museums, all the elementary schools, The Dalles Chamber of Commerce, and all the above mentioned ones always need volunteers.

There is a photography club that meets twice a month here and in Hood River. Some do photography professionally, some for hobby, but they are a great group of people! Best to shop online for clothing. Not much choice here. Trip to Portland might just be the ticket. Beautiful drive. Great photo op. Bonneville Dam fish hatchery. Meet Herman. See some of the disaster of the Eagle creek fire. Still Beautiful. And malls and outlet stores. Columbia Store. North Face. Wal-Mart. Etc.... Welcome to The Bend in the River .

Welcome! Big Five has pretty good weather gear, Gloss Salon is the best in town--though you'll want to call asap, as they book out pretty far, and looks like you're covered for volunteering. Glad to have you in the area and hope you find a good niche!:) ♡
