Love this forum! Who would you recommend for an optometrist? Do you get your glasses from him/her or go some place else?

We have had excellent service from SAMs. I am a retired optician and know what to look for. I just recently got very expensive new polarized progressive sunglass lenses made at no charge under a one-year warranty there. The thing that impressed me was that, after hearing my complaints about the original lenses, Debby, the department manager, offered to use my new prescription in the replacement lenses. To me, this is service above and beyond what is usually expected. My best advice is to buy good lenses, wherever you go, and report any issues with them after you have worn them for a week or two. There can be big differences in the clear vision channels in progressive lenses. Throw in a few millimeters off in the measuring and/or edging and you may not see very well. And, oh, Dr. Geddes at Vision Marketplace, across from Bailey Plaza, is very good and he is reasonable.
