And Janet Martin Perkins --wow-- you are friends with Diane Dewitt? I knew her from St. Anthony's. I still keep in touch with her, too. Miss her and her family. Her daughters helped someone we took care of in our ministry. They did an awesome job at it, too, although they were still in high school themselves.
Hilda B. replied:
Sally Blaha I've heard good things about Forest Shadows for boarding and doggie day care, too.

As a fellow pet sitter in the community, I would send all my clients to Traci Smith if anything should ever happen to me. I think it speaks volumes when someone within the profession would have that type of confidence in another. You know how when you ask a doctor for a referral and you phrase it with, "Who would you go to if this was YOUR family member?" This is no different. I know her business ethics are phenomenal when dealing with her fellow pet sitters in the community. I know how she treats her clients and I wholeheartedly approve. She reaches out to pet sitters across the country--well actually there are several from other countries--to give advice, to share her experience, to give encouragement, to uplift, to cheer on. She is never boastful or hateful. Her heart is truly filled with "grace and hope." Since her pet sitting business does support her rescue, she chooses to do that versus let's say advertising with Woodlands Online which is the only way you can even get on the nomination list for "Best of The Woodlands." I looked into that and it is several thousands of dollars a year. I can see her saying in her head, "Do I spend several thousands of dollars for a title or do I spend several thousands of dollars to make the lives of animals in our community better?" She makes the right choice every time. Once you get on the nomination list, it only takes a few people voting to get into the top 3. What is important to her is that she is #1 in The Woodlands for the clients she serves and for her that is all that matters (which is how it should be). And she has earned the respect of her colleagues throughout The Woodlands. She would never say these things about herself because she is not that type of person. So I decided to say it for her.
