Java Mill was awesome. My husband would go there every day. Sad they closed.

Point place needs a drive thru coffee place like Tim Hortons or Dunkin Donuts. McDonald's does so well because no one has to leave their vehicle, there are breakfast options, and their pricing is some whay regulated. Local coffee shops fail because they can't offer everything a franchise can and keep their prices low enough for people to keep going. Plus they lack the drive thru aspect which is actually a HUGE factor in our area. If everyone took 5 minutes to contact one of these corporate stores/franchises and told them about the need in our community, we could probably make a coffee place happen.

Location, location, location... I believe a coffee house/cafe could survive in the Point...but often times start ups place their facilities in a cheap space that's cheap for a reason...Java Mill was in Lighthouse Landing, correct?...few use that route because of being boxed in by the trains on Manhattan and on Summit...a coffee house needs convenient accessibility for running in and out (Think Rustbelt Coffee or Plate 21...both hugely popular and profitable with no drive thru, but super convenient parking near main routes) in a location that is well travelled going in and out of the Point, so folks can make it part of their journey...tucking a shop away in a cheap, inconvenient location is not a recipe for success...a community needs to be built around anchors (why Kroger is located where it is) and as a community flourishes, it can support other locations...the negativity that a shop wouldn't survive the Point is simply not true...it just needs to take basic factors such as location, pricing, and desirable hours and atmosphere into consideration

I'm in Oregon waiting on Peter and I don't want to drive all the way home for wifi. Does anyone know if there's some sort of coffee shop/cafe around here?
