Group 2 Motorsports - I’ve heard nothing but good things about them. They always have classic Alfa’s and BMW’s out front too, which is fun. Also they have there current labor rate posted in giant font on there website (125) which seems very open.

Eastside Bavarian in Issaquah is fantastic. I owned an e36 m3, and there's no other shop I would ever take it to. Best shop around imo.

There are many good BMW shops in the area. It would help to know where you are located. I have used Strictly BMW (Bellevue) for almost two decades. When I was into autocross/track events, they were indispensable. And for regular service, they are very honest with what needs to be done, what can wait, and options. Never any pressure.

Precision Motorworks on Elliot has taken great care of my E39 s. I'd have to pull out an invoice to make sure but I think they're $109/hr. Best thing is that their loaners are cool old beaters, E30/28/34T/32 are the four that I've taken.

Jeff's Autohaus in Bellevue used to be a BMW/Audi/Merc specialist. They've expanded and diversified and got new owners but they're still a solid choice. Edit: They also have some Bosch electronics certification--that's probably relevant to BMW drivers.

We go to Signature Independent in Kirkland. They are GREAT. We were having problems with our driver's seat moving on its own and they are the only ones who figured out what the actual problem was (after taking it in three other times elsewhere and almost getting a whole new seat!). Ended up being a wire that would get pressed sporadically and short out, causing the seat to move. We just took it in for its annual oil change and they let us know that we need to get new brakes next time, per manufacturer's recommendation. It's nice that they aren't pushing quotas or anything like that.

Fat City under the Monorail, I've always gone there for both BMW and Mercedes, they're always fast and really nice. They do all kinds of German cars.
Looking for a boat mechanic. I know it needs a starter solenoid. Probably more. Not looking to get raked over the coals, but I want someone who knows what the hell...
Brian P. replied:
Where are you from, where is the boat? Automotive Electric in Lawrence will rebuild a bad starter, possibly charge less in labor and have faster turn around. An old boat like that is really not hard to turn a few wrenches and then just take the starter in for rebuild.
