I used to live just to the east of that place on Old Indianola Rd, from about 1959 til 1970. And the information you got is correct. It was a place with little cabins. The one "shallow pond" is actually a lake! At least that's what they called it. It would become more of a lake the more it rained! (smile) There used to be a sign that said "cabins for rent"....but my memory is not good enough to remember the name of the place. Then not too much farther to the west of this place (right about where the highway intersects 24, was an old gas station/cafe/beer joint. I'll keep trying to remember anything else about the cabins. I really think it was a very simple name......like "White Cabins" or "Lakeside Cabins"........something like that.
