We're shopping around for a new daycare in this area for our 3 year old. Looking for more of a preschool setting rather than home daycare. Any suggestions?

Check out Manchester School for Young Children, not 100% sure about openings right now, but I think they'll have what you're looking for. Really awesome school, with amazing teachers, and a really cool approach to teaching. Christina Haynes-Turner, is the owner/director. (785) 272-1414

Check out Mini Masters by SportsZone. I'm confident that my youngest will be more ready for school by a wide margin than my oldest who went to a preschool when we lived in St. Joseph.
Jennifer H. replied:
I also recommend Mini Masters. It's across from Sports Zone off of Burlingame. Jessica Romesburg is the owner, and her staff are like family. Our son has always been about a grade ahead in school due to their curriculum. It can be a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Part of the reason they are a little higher is because they don't accept SRS so therefore they do not get funding for meals by the state which means they pay for that on their own. Also their doors are passcode locked and they hire great quality teachers. The best learning center in town. Even their baby room and toddler room are taught basic sign language with the program "Your baby can read". We pulled our kids out last year due to me staying at home, but we'll be putting one back in after the summer.

Community Preschool on Fairlawn is great. It's just north of Topeka West. It's been many years since my daughter attended, but friends have sent their children recently and were also very happy with their program.

How old is your little? Infant care is usually 190-200 a week and then it would go down slightly from there as they get older. I recommend First Christian Church Child Care Center. They also have summer care for school age.
Brittny E. replied:
She is 4. I just emailed FCC Child Care tonight. Hoping the have openings!
Renee S. replied:
Call Child Care Aware. They can give you a list of providers and background information. 785-357-5171.
Trish S. replied:
TDC has several centers and they do a preschool/pre-k curriculum (that's where my daughter goes), and First Christian at 21 st & Gage does as well....and they have a sign out right now so I think they might have openings.
Does anybody know of any church or regular preschools that you can take your kids just 1 or 2 days a week? My son is 2 1/2 will be 3 in January?

I love Topeka Luthern. We have been going there since he was 1 (almost 3) he's potty trained, counts to 11 and knows half of the ABCs they are pricey but we'll worth it. Part time isn't too expensive though
