Unless you have absolute confidence in your control over your dog and those it may come across, it might be wiser to go in a wheelchair with the dog on a lead along the Riverside Walk. It runs along the Silverstone Brook, from the Rec to the Leisure Centre (several car parking options) it is very pleasant and secure, and it would give much easier access to clear up after the dog too.
