Whoever you decide on, make sure you go in and let them know that's all you're retaining them to do. Don't let them talk you into fighting for more stuff or anything different. Amicably resolving a divorce is infinitely better and cheaper, and you don't want an attorney who will try to lengthen the process and rack up billing hours.

If you are on the same page, perhaps you can just use a paralegal. My friend used Divorce Packet Processing.

Go to the Arizona state bar website and look up who specializes in family law. Then look at each lawyers records and make sure they do not have any disciplinary history. Also try to make sure you retain a lawyer with some pedigree and a good reputation. Google them and see what people think. If that attorney is attached with a firm see what type of reputation that firm has. If that attorney you may find went to Arizona Summit School of Law (formerly known as Phoenix School of Law) avoid them like the plague. That school has no acceptance standards.

I didn't even think about using a paralegal. Do you king if u ask how much it cost you? I don't know much about this process.

I used Kathleen McCarthy during a custody dispute. She's excellent. If there are kids involved, mediation is often a step (unless you both agree exactly on custody issues).

Patricia Vargas Arvizu my aunt is a paralegal and she told me once ;) that you can fill out paperwork I think it's a divorce petition and it's submitted to the court. The husband is than notified and he has I think a month to respond. If he doesn't than a judge signs it and your divorced. She was charging $300.
