Need a Tuscaloosan seamstress/seamster who repairs leather

There used to be a shoe place downtown near the new-ish park. There is also a lady who does chairs and furniture and stuff, who might be able to help. If i remember correctly her name is Grace Aberdean.

The downtown shoe repair place has moved. It's called People's Shoe Repair. They're now in a little house around the corner from Maggie's Diner. I think it's 12 th Street. Best shoe repair place in town. And yes, Jamie at Grace Aberdean might be able to help you. The seamstress I use is Jenny's Alterations on 15 th just up the street from Home Depot. I'm not sure if she works on leather, but she does perfect work otherwise.

Across the street from the Power Co on Queen City
Bebe L. replied:
People's Shoe Repair is the place to go, Loretta. If anyone can fix them or will give it a shot, they will. The place by TJ Maxx is useless, in my opinion, plus they're overpriced. Go to People's. It's around the corner from Maggie's Diner (see my first post above, where I also mention Jenny's).
i want to learn to sew. are there any recommendations for an awesome sewing machine for a beginner? what about a seamstress with the with the patience of job to teach me...
