Anyone recommend a good dentist, who doesnt stuff a rubber grommet into your mouth as a prerequisite to doing any work, and - (i know this is a long shot) doesnt...

Dentists generally don't use amalgam anymore, do they? I may be wrong, but I think that's out, everywhere. I know Peter Martin (just up past the Base Hospital) hasn't used it for years ... but he charges the earth ... as they all do anyway, I think. I'll be interested to read recommendations of others too!!

do you mean a rubber dam to keep saliva off teeth for big procedures? I use Rachael at Star Court- gentle, caring & friendly

My sister in Ballina, Elizabeth Miller at Riverwalk Dental(66894305) is very gentle and a number of Nimbin folks have been going to her since the 1970 s. Any dental work seems to be expensive. I recommend getting cheap extras health cover.

As I had to have some extensive work, I have compared prices. Star Dental are very expensive. Very nice staff but somehow they have to pay for all the fancy furniture in their surgery. I'm not sure what you mean by rubber grommet... maybe ask Richard Malawkin, one of the dentists in Kyogle, 6632 1598. I've been going to him for years now.
