Ancestral Quest, Tribal Pages, RootsMagic & Legacy all are free. I would try them all out and see which one you like best. AQ, RM & Legacy have a "deluxe" version with more features that you can buy - none cost more than $50. There is also a new timeline format that is free too. www.twile.com Can't go wrong with free - I would try them each out, play around with them and see which one works best for you. RootsMagic and Legacy also have fabulous webinars - both on how to use the software and other genealogical related topics. Best of luck to you!
