Anybody know any chiropractors in Ulsan,
Had a jammed thumb around 20 days ago,
Saw a doctor right away, had some injections, pills, mobilized it.
Basically it's...

Andrew Great tip, Yeah about the "shape" I think I chose a wrong word for that, it's a extremely slight shape change. Barely can see. The problem is when I try to close my thumb (doesn't let me close it, as if there's some wrench in the gear). So as you said, physical theraps is a good idea then.
Anku S. replied:
Wang Wei Sounds good, U see, the point is I need to find a those places. Nice idea btw buddy.
Anku S. replied:
Wang WeiThanks maate, That makes sense actually.

Does anyone know of a good chiropractor (or failing that, good physiotherapist) in Ulsan who can at least speak reasonable English? FYI, it's for husband with...
Rich M. replied:
There is a hospital opposite the KBS centre near the Seattle Coffee shop-허리 디스크, or something along those lines (Its the one advertised on all the taxis) I went there a couple of years ago and his English is perfect.
Kathryn F. replied:
Thanks Rich. I'm fairly new to Ulsan and don't know either KBS centre of Seattle Coffee shop - what area of Ulsan are these in? Do you know the street name?
Jason T. replied:
I was curious and I did a search according to Rich Morgan's information. There is a hospital that specializes in it in the large "Amunity" apartments across from the KBS hall and art center. Seattle Coffee shop is in the next large buildings call "Starclass" and there is a large hopsital near there called "Ulsan Hospital" I am not sure which one rich went to but to get there you stay on the samsan-side of the river and it is close to the Namgu office and you'll spot the location because there are some of the tallest building in the samsandong/daldong right before you cross the bridge to seungnamdong http://dmaps.kr/ebd9

Hi sabrina caverly... Not sure if you're only looking for a chiropractor or a doctor in general. Dr Park at Park Hospital near old downtown speaks very good English. the hospital details and location should be on ulsan online if you search there but if you have any problems message me and I can get the hospital coordinates for u... Theres also an orthopedic doctor at my local hospital in hogyedong at 21st century hospital. his english is not as good as dr park but is good enuf... both hospitals also have physiotherapists there I am not sure about chiropractitioners... Another thing you may want to bear in mind is as hospitals are private here the costs may differ from hospital to hospital. Good luck.

UPDATE: I went to Woori Hospital this morning and met with Dr. Kwon. After previously visiting two other hospitals, I can confidently say that Woori Hospital was excellent and Dr. Kwon was superb! His English was perfect and was very thorough in his explanations. I highly recommend Dr. Kwon at Ulsan Woori Hospital for any back issues!
Sabrina A. replied:
Meagan, I had a consultation and physical therapy. I am not in need of chiropractic adjustments. Woori Hospital is a spine hospital, so I'm sure that chiropractic and physiotherapy are located there. Again, his English is perfect (he is from Chicago) so he is able to help you 100% and is very friendly.

Geoffrey Jenson This may help you as well. I found this by searching the previous posts by clicking the magnifying glass in the upper right.
Has anyone here ever been to a chiropractor? Do they have them here? I need someone to fix my back.
Jake C. replied:
Read about it. They have zero medical training, it's complete nonsense--it's dangerous, actually, to have some untrained asshole messing with your spine. Save your money and your back. It's about as scientific as phrenology or the aether; comes from the same background. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertebral_subluxation The placebo effect is powerful stuff.

I am normally hesitant about Eastern medicine(and ive lived 10 years in Korea(when I was first in ulsan there were two other foreign teachers there), 7 in China and 2 in Japan), but for back problems(and I have nerve, muscle problems)...Acupuncture is the best thing ive ever had for helping the pain and almost immediate results.
Alexina P. replied:
I have a physiotherapy clinic right next to my school (Hope Clinic in Nammok-1-dong, Dong-gu) if you're desperate. The two doctors that I saw spoke excellent English but the rest of their staff bar the male nurse that took care of me every day that I went (which was nearly everyday for three weeks) were completely awkward whenever I showed up. They don't personally take care of you like in the west (it's all machines) but the whole shebang (which consists of a heat pad for 20 minutes, electrode suckers for another 20, and then a massage/rotating machine for the last 20) complemented the yoga stretches I also did. All for barely 6,000 won a visit. Think getting x-rays that first time cost another 6,000. All in all underwhelming compared to the west but it was the only way I could get relief some days. The one chiro I saw prior to my physio discovery told me that I needed to see him for the next two months, that I should not take painkillers, and proceeded to gently massage my back. Back home, I was used to instant relief with my chiro. So, yeah, I never went back to see that idiot.
Rachael I. replied:
Alexina Paiement, please may you give me directions for Nammok Bus Terminal to Hope Clinic?
At Suyeong station, exit 10 I think. Clinic is about 20 metres from the exit. (near BMW motorbikes) Clinic is called By Hand Health (son u ro) on the 3 rd floor. You'll see a sign at ground level. Try www.pusanweb.com for more info.
Could anybody recommend an english speaking chiropractor/physio for a sports injury? And what should I expect cost-wise? Thanks in advance

I agree with Stacey. Sophie is great and the head doctor at that hospital speaks great English. Manual/physical therapy is not covered by insurance. It is 40,000 for 1 hour.
Andrew J. replied:
I also agree - Sophie and her crew at Park hospital in Seongnam are great. Dr. Park also has perfect english and will most likely conduct your first assessment. LIke Emkay says, 40,000 / 40 mins -1 hr.
