W.o.W. gym in Seongnamdong has a sign out that says something like 2 months for 100k. Is anyone here have an opinion about that gym? Do they have someone who speaks...
Kelly F. replied:
it was around 100,000 a month . I've seen some terrible, nasty gyms for 50,000. The one I'm at now is 40,000 and it's great. Bert Ward knows the name of it, i don't have my gym card with me. The only problem with ours is that you have to sign up on a certain day. the 25 th i think.
Bert W. replied:
The gym that Kelly and I attend is the best facility I have been to in Ulsan. The guys and gals at this gym work hard. Nobody is sitting around on their smartphones taking up benches or machines. Upstairs is a basketball court and Jujitsu training. There is a pool and there are multiple yoga and aerobics classes (they sound and look intense). They aren't afraid to speak english either. They may not be the best, but they are not afraid to try. A fitness membership is 40,000 per month. You must sign up the 25 th of each month. Here is a map from KBS hall. I know the 226 bus goes there. http://goo.gl/maps/LrDF
Hi guys,
I'm looking for a reputable MMA gym with a fight team in the Ulsan area. If anyone can point me in the right direction that'd be awesome.
Cheers!

Team MAD has a branch in Ulsan now. Address: 남구신정동 34-51 KBS 사거리 Number: 010-3025-2144 Instagram: teammad_ulsan My friend Navarun Atraya who trains in the Busan branch can let you know more details of what the gym atmosphere is like.
Navarun A. replied:
Team MAD will certainly be the right place for you. Very friendly people and active in the MMA scene (including UFC) . I started as an absolute beginner and have been training at Team MAD Busan for about 2 months. Your level really doesn't matter. They teach beginners well. Also, if you are not a beginner, you can get some good practice with some really experienced people.

Hi, I strongly recommend Kingkong Gym which is right across from beansbins cafe (just next to Upsquare/CGV in the hub of Samsan) where you can freely join MMA, Kickboxing and Jiujitsu/Judo class in a row. Two masters are TFC fighters (one of the famous Korean MMA Fighting associations) and also very friendly and enthusiastic to teach. The other coach is a professional boxer and kick boxer who is very young, talented and well-rounded fighter. so you can basically learn most of things you need for MMA to train and improve at one location. The address is as follows ; 1548-9, Samsandong, Namgu, Ulsan. M.P: 010-2473-3733 Kakao Talk: skh3733 or FunkyPenny For more info. come visit facebook page (킹콩GYM) & instagram (ulsankingkonggym). If you have further questions, plz pm me.

Yes, you can use any of them. And Ulsan College is a good place too. https://www.google.ca/maps/place/산139-4+Hwajeong-dong,+Dong-gu,+Ulsan,+South+Korea/@35.4985073,129.4155465,15 z/data=!3 m1!4 b1!4 m2!3 m1!1 s0 x3567 ce1 b172 e8 ff3:0 x2 ad1 f7230 d7 dc8 fe
Jason T. replied:
Ulsan College is probably your best bet aside from the path along the road past the shipyards. The path will follow the road and then the river. There is a track at the college and it is relatively close to you. The closest option would be any public school as people use them when school is not in session as public space.
Dave C. replied:
Check out Ulsan Runners on Facebook to meet up with other runners, attend track sessions and sign up to races.
There's one in the hyundai culture center in Dong-gu, beside the bowling alley. I've also spotted this one which is near the new Lotte City hotel http://map.naver.com/local/siteview.nhn?code=36276136

if you're up for buying online, gmarket is great and cheap. If you want English only, http://www.aliexpress.com/ is wonderful. I've bought many things through the site and all have been excellent. Free shipping to Korea.
Wow Fitness is just across the river from there. It's the closest one to it. Your other options are here, though Ulsan Fitness (I on the map) has closed down: http://map.naver.com/?menu=location&mapMode=0&lat=35.5422878&lng=129.3295746&dlevel=10&searchCoord=129.3300078%3B35.546302&query=7Zes7Iqk&mpx=10140106%3A35.546302%2C129.3300078%3AZ12%3A0.0095120%2C0.0071221&tab=1&enc=b64

Deirdre M. replied:
If you use the search feature for this page, (up on the top right, just under the members photos, click the spyglass icon) there are a whole bunch of conversations on this topic that might give you the some information. There is also a gym at the Munsu Stadium Swimming pool - information can be found here http://ulsanonline.com/Culture/?p=4239 - sign up for either here or the University Gym is only on the 26 th of the month, I believe.
