depending on the price of the part, check the warranty. we just had our oven fixed. Manufacturer repair warrantied the part for 5 years. Most others were 3 months to a year.

I had the same issue. Cold air is not being circulated to freezer. Usually because fan that blows cold air over the coils to the freezer is bad, or unit is not defrosting, blocking the air passageway. If freezer chest is not cold, ice for ice maker will not be made. Manually defrost entire unit for a few hours (take all food out, turn off, open doors, use a box fan aimed at freezer) turn back on and listen for fan. Fan on mine was in back wall, top of freezer chest. Fan replacement is a fairly easy fix. Defrost issues are a little more difficult. Repairclinic.com has troubleshooting and videos. If you are fairly handy, you can fix yourself!
