Conca Azzurra and Belvedere in Ranco are nice. My personal favorite is Laguna Blu in Reno.

If you'd like to make a day of it and travel by boat there are some lovely places to eat on Isola Pescatori, all with wonderful views. One of our favourites is http://www.belvedere-isolapescatori.it/ which does a 20 euro set menu every day which is great value and usually very good. Top of the buckets in Laveno is lovely on a clear day and good food. Last time I went for lunch at Antico Lido in Arolo the food was very average but the service we've found good, wouldn't rush back though. Laguna Blu is a lovely spot, food good but not amazing but lovely friendly service. I've heard Locanda Montecristo is lovely but haven't been yet. There are a couple of lakeside places to eat in Calde 10 minutes north of Laveno, both good.
Francesca B. replied:
Locanda Montecristo, over Laveno Mombello hills. The best view!

Please could anyone give me some advice on a nice place to stay in Milan for a couple of nights in April? (Preferably not too expensive?) Hotel, restaurant or bar...
Nicole V. replied:
Hi, we recently had a stunning weekend in Milan. We stayed at the Art Hotel Navigli, can recommend it, a great position on the navigli which is wonderful to see at night. We had a fabulous lunch at Erba Brusca, they have their own vegetable garden, the food is wonderful. The Bulgari Hotel is very pricey but worth it for aperitivi. All the usual sights and shopping etc is great. Enjoy! www.arthotelnavigli.comwww.erbabrusca.it

Volo a Vela next to the gliding club on Lake Varese gets our vote every time. We have been regulars for 9 years and the service and food is always lovely. It is fun watching the gliders taking off on sunny days and there are lovely views over the lake. They do the best set lunch on weekdays with 3 courses, wine, water and coffee a steal at 15 euros. http://www.ristorantevoloavela.it/
Could anyone advise me on where would be the best place to buy organic produce-veg and meat. We live near Castronno (South of Varese) but I am able to drive. Thank you.
