Deb Johnston. She advertises on the horse hauling sites. Great shipper and reasonable rates. She hauled a VERY pregnant mare for me from Manitoba to BC and mare arrived safe and sound and stress free.

If your local to the valley for your case I'd recommend either Tabatha L Hepworth or Brianna Frewin or Mia Sheldon. For what you want and where your horse is at probably your best bet.

Look for a liberty or natural horsemanship trainer...but whoever you choose, make sure they teach you their methods and involve you in the training as well and will work with creating a bond between you and him. My gelding had MAJOR trust and confidence issues when I bought him from the auction. I mostly used Doug mills and Clinton Anderson techniques...along with other natural methods for training. They're gentle yet extremely effective. But to gain a massive bond between him and myself....I actually started jogging with him. Never letting his shoulder pass mine and I used my body language for control. Sounds weird but it worked! I saw a HUGE respect response from him. All of a sudden I had a puppy dog for a horse. No need for a lead rope anymore. I'm his leader....and he made that choice without any force.

I highly recommend Ashley Stewart as well! She's wonderful and patient with horses who have unknown histories. She owns two herself who came to her with questionable pasts, that she has done wonders with! She has helped me so much over the past 3 years with my mare, I could not have found a better trainer to work with ☺

Brianna Frewin has done a wonderful job with my rescue Clyde. When we first got him you couldn't get near him - he was also extremely face shy and people shy. We also couldn't get near his feet and a Clyde with a roundhouse kick is a scary thing!! After a week with Brianna is was so impressed I sent her my other rescue, an unhandled 8 yo QH who was scared of everything. Both of my boys are very different and have different reactions to things, both very unhandled and with issues and what I really appreciate about her approach is that it's tailored to what the horse needs and what their strengths are - she seems to gain their trust very quickly. I was worried about ruining them by taking them to the wrong trainer, and I definitely didn't want anything harsh that would make them obedient but break their spirit - so glad I found Brianna! She's also worked with me and I've learned a ton from her.
