I’ve been to a few places around the city and my favorite so far is Stephen Gregory: A Men’s Concept. They have an app where you can schedule appointments and see samples from the stylists. I’ve been going to Newman at Newman’s Classic Cuts for two years now and he’s always done me right. Him and his partner AP are both fantastic barbers. $20 for a cut, $25 for hair and beard. He can style your hair as well and has a host of different hair creams, pomade, etc. Not to mention they’re both funny as fuck AND their shop is located in a dope ass record store (Seasick) so you can shop around while you wait. Only real downside (if you can even call it one) is that it’s by appointment only. http://www.newmansclassiccuts.com

We go to Cut N Corners in Vestavia near Pizitz. Erika is great and the kids love her. It's nothing fancy at all (kind of a dive) but kids cuts are $5 plus age, the kids love her and she does a great job.

I grew up going to the Vestavia Barber Shop by Marks. Always been a great place. We take our boys to the Cahaba Heights Barber Shop, right next to Cahaba Cycle in Cahaba Heights. See Charlie if you go. Don't know about hair salon though, both are more barber shop.
