Oh! And RePUBlic is also a nice cheap choice with good food and drink options. They take reservations, which I'd recommend once they are usually crowded. http://www.pub.lt/

"Grey" restauranas has an interesting option with samples of Lithuanian cuisine (Tasting snack board | Ragauk everything - 15 euro). I would try it. And they have a cute dessert that looks like a small plant (don't remember the name). http://restoranasgrey.lt/index.php/meniu/grey-chill

Chestnut Cottage for breakfast or lunch is a must. We like Wildfire for nice dinners. You can eat out on the deck. http://www.ldswoodfiregrill.com/ The only other place we eat regularly is SoHo. We had a birthday dinner for our niece at Sabai Thai and it was delicious.

Try Martyno Mažvydo biblioteka in Gedimino prospektas, MKIC library in Saulėtekis. These are nice and cosy libraries. You can also try local cafes, such as Coffee Inn or Vero Cafe. Both VU and ISM universities also have libraries in the oldtown, but I think that for VU library in the oldtown you need a special permission to enter it. As I previously finished my thesis, wish you best luck during the writing process ;)
