I have a question about doctors who take Medi Cal in Visalia. My husband was a cash pay with my doctor, Mark Tetz, but when the new law came into effect he had to...
Denise T. replied:
A program is not good or bad based on it's goals, it is good or bad based on how well it is administered and the results. Healthcare reform is obviously necessary - but saying the words free coverage for all does not mean everything will be covered, and that there will not be treatments and tests denied, as well as delays in receiving care. The affordable care act adds laws and regulations - but the government is in control instead of a a private insurance company. The government has not done such a great job with Medicare that it makes me want to sign up... This does not in any way improve or streamline care - and there is still a class system - more defined than what we currently have. There are all ready cuts for new Long Term Care facilities for our elderly. As far as pre-existing states and coverage for anyone, it depends on multiple factors including group coverage, which has many protections built in and gaps in coverage - which should be avoided if at all possible.
Sandra H. replied:
Kenny, I called Dr Holvik and the very nice woman said they don't take Medi Cal. Dr. Cruz sounds like the right choice. They take the Health Net Medi Cal my poor hubby has to have at least until the next politician changes it. My doctor, Mark Tetz, said just wait a few months and every thing will change.

Dead People Do Not Pay Taxes... Give them Healthcare, then they will not Die and will continue to pay taxes... LOL...
Pamela E. replied:
Larry Parker, one thing for sure will happen.. People will have more healthcare issue if they do not have access to health care coverage... Because of the ACA, hopefully this will not be such an issue.. People's lives should not be treated as a commodity...
Bruce Q. replied:
Larry Doss, I hope the Obama administration is quoting from this report since it is the world standard for social analysis. The Social Progress Index is an international project to create numbers for "social variables". They measure results, not methods. As you will probably question the politics of this report I point you to the major US sponsor: The Rockefeller Foundation. I hesitate stooping to personal attacks, but Larry you need to read more.
Pamela E. replied:
Bruce E. Quinn .. I am all for learning and being well informed.. message me some links
Denise T. replied:
Has he tried going to the Family Health Care Network? Here is a website with some resources in addition to applying for Medical. http://freeclinicdirectory.org/california_care/tulare_ca_county.html
Pamela E. replied:
Larry Doss, are you saying that 30 Million people would have to go without heathcare if it was not for the ACT.... That make me happy that the ACT has passed..
Denise T. replied:
Socialized medicine still has rules, and guidelines, and policies. paid for by the citizens of that country - so are not free. http://www.forbes.com/sites/sallypipes/2011/12/19/the-ugly-realities-of-socialized-medicine-are-not-going-away-3/
Bruce Q. replied:
Larry, not "everybody" thinks the US has the best medical care. This new report puts the US health at 70 th place in the world, next to third world countries. http://www.socialprogressimperative.org/data/spi
Larry D. replied:
Bruce E Quinn the link from the social progress imperative is a DIRECT quote from the Obama administration. You can not get any more prejudice than that. You need to get out more.
Nancy S. replied:
Don N Carmen Guthrie, if you call the clinic for an appointment, you can ask for a specific MD or PA. .I was tired of being bounced from PA to PA. I had heard good things about Dr Mariano, so I just called and asked for her..2 years ago, and she is excellent.
Mary G. replied:
The phone shot off it told me a error was made, tried to take it off but would not allow. I was going to write I had Dr. Tates when I first moved back to visalia, he was very nice, he sent me another doctor for a Hysterectomy but in being late to my surgery & rushed I almost died from mistakes made, unfortunately I just about killed me I had HealthNet, but for what ever their reason They dropped it I was left hanging when all the Dr. At the Kawea Goup on court sll folded ip claimed bankruptcy i was left hanging like a fish out of water think they thought lawsuit they dropped HealthNet and me I was out without anyone very Disappointed in all my doctors I had to go to LA to Stanford different places just to receive help I couldn't get it here many years later I took a doctor that did nothing for me let things get out of control, I finally had another doctor told me if I didn't leave my Dr. he would cost me my life, so I now have Dr. Shyam Bhaskar I love him very busy all doctors are but he's an internist he's very thorough, nice hard to get caring Dr. After years went bye they started to carry Health Net Again??? Be wise in choosing. From one who had been there.

Sounds more like you need a chiropractor than a massage therapist. Dr. Matthew McCutcheon is awesome. (559) 635-2033. He takes insurance or cash. Cash prices-$80 first visit, $50 after that. He's helped me soo much in the last year of seeing him. I rarely have to take my pain meds or muscle relaxers thanks to him.

Help! Anyone know a doctor that accepts Anthem Blue-Cross Medi-cal for Breast reconstructive surgery, after you have had a double-mastectomy? or where can I go to ask...
Tami A. replied:
I work at Clovis community hospital in short stay surgery. Radin is the breast center and the doctors are AWESOME! I recommend Dr Gumina or Dr Gardikas.. And I do believe they take that insurance..
Adri B. replied:
Thank Tami Anderson. I'll call them too
Adri B. replied:
Stanford & UCLA said No. Dr Potts here in Visalia, said Yes to the mastectomy, but not the reconstruction.
Jacqueline S. replied:
Try looking threw www.cancercare.org. Alot of them i think you will have to call directly .Also, since you know you are at risk now too. Make sure you're insurance pays for reconstruction and with the areola. Most dont do any reconstruction anymore but some will rebuild the breast without the areola . It is considered cosmetic for either surgery . If it dose not cover get a suplamental type insurance like Aflack.
