Don't start painting for a few weeks after pressure washing. Your drilling water deeply when you pressure wash. If you don't let it dry completely to let moisture content to come back to normal limit you will seal it under your new and probably expensive paint job. It will return to regular levels but if it has new paint before it does, it still will and will show up as major paint bubbling, pealing, and blistering of new paint. Sold paint for a long time seen too many times. Ask painter to come mid June if your going to wash within the week. Please listen and good luck!

If you really want paint, Steve Caron is great and I know Missy does good work as someone else pointed out. I'd personally just powerwash that right off and let the natural cedar glow. It's a self preservative wood via it's oils and it looks great, and allows the wood to breath better for longevity of the entire house as the sheathing and framing behind said siding can also breathe better. Shakes and claps should be painted prior to installation for this reason so joints aren't sealed and the wood can breathe. Food for thought
