Hi All!
Our family might be moving from Burlington, Vermont, and are coming down April 20 for an extended trip to check out Cville! Our daughter is almost 9 (in a...

Love WAP! I include some of that stuff on my doula blog/site:) silky cow is the best cowshare for raw milk, but there is a wait list. I don't know anything about the vet. I corresponded with a WAP chapter leader a few years back, but I don't know if it is really active. I have a friend who is currently doing GAPS and my husband; has done a modified version for a while and has had major health improvements. CASs...Bellair Farm is one of the biggest. I asked a similar question last week and got a few other options that I can't remember...oh Radical Roots is one also.
Liz K. replied:
Love love Charlottesville Waldorf School!! Worth every penny! Avery Branch (WAP recommended) has A2 raw milk, butter, etc. And Bellair Farm for CSA!

We get our milk from Silky Cow, and it is amazing, but it is true that there is a waiting list. Avery's Branch is good too, though not as local since they are close to Richmond. Bronson Family Dentistry is the only local holistic dentist center. They also do orthodontic / orthopedic work. We have been seeing them for eight years and are thrilled with the results. I recommend Radical Roots or Whisper Hill CSAs. Integral Yoga has the best local produce selection and a wonderful juice / smoothie bar. We also farm biodynamically (veggies, meat and egg chickens, guineas, pigs, and honey bees), we also home school using Waldorf curriculum (Christopherus), and we also follow WAP / GAPS. We live in southern Albemarle and our boys are 14 and 11. It would be great to meet you!

A friend of mine has a llama and goat farm in Madison County. Madison is located north or Charlottesville. It takes her approximately 40 minutes to come into town. Here is a link to her website. http://www.cornerstonellamas.com/index.htm
Jane G. replied:
The Charlottesville Waldorf School is fantastic! Be sure to check it out.

Living Culture Farm is new in Scottsville and working on organic. And Revolution Health in Scottsville is pretty awesome.:)
Rachael R. replied:
Piedmont Vet (in Southern Albemarle County) does farm animals and will come to your farm. They cover Esmont, Scottsville, North Garden and probably other areas as well. They are awesome and reasonably priced. We have a new butcher, JM Stock and Provisions, that uses all locally sourced grass fed organic meat, but there are lots of farms around with cheaper options.

http://www.pecva.org/maps-and-resources/publications/buy-fresh-buy-local-guides - Click on the link for "Charlottesville Area Guide" - this is a fantastic list of all the local sources or meat, dairy and produce. I think you would like this area a lot - good luck!

Hi! We also eat WAP and have been on GAPS for a year and a half. My son just turned 6 and is homeschooled. -We go to Plexus Clinic for most of our medical care. There is an MD/DO there and a natural health practitioner. They are wonderful. -Large animal vet is Dr. Lincoln Montgomery-Rodgers. I haven't used him for large animals, but he's helped me with poultry. He mostly covers areas south of Charlottesville. -We go to ACTS co-op. It is a Christian home school co-op. You don't have to be Christian, just respectful of their beliefs. It is for prek-12 and meets once a week. There are a couple hundred families involved. There's another co-op called Chessie, but I don't know a ton about it. Look in southern Albemarle for a place to live. It is cheaper for land than northern Albemarle.
Need recommendations for a great dentist -- I'm super anxious about dental work so someone that is gentle and understanding would be preferred. Thanks.

Dr. Helvey is great as well as his staff. They take insurance and then bill you for any difference. He has done 2 root canals and the cap. Almost painless. In and out in just over 2 hours.

Dr. Helvey does and his staff handles all of the paperwork. I have seen him on several occasions and they submitted everything on my behalf. Candace can assist you there.
Anybody know of a good dentist in the Warrenton area? Preferably one that takes MetLife? :)
Kiersten P. replied:
Not sure if they take MetLife but Dr Jelinek is great... And it's a Christian practice!
Casandra M. replied:
Try the Neibauer Dental Care over by where the Borders used to be and near the new Red Zone restaurant. I'm not sure about the insurance part but my mom goes there and she likes it.:)
Megan A. replied:
I shadowed with Dr. Flikeid..he's amazing, and so are all of his hygienists!
Kevin M. replied:
Dr. Walther has been my dentist as long as I've had teeth. His main hygienist, Robin, has been cleaning my teeth so long, the photos of her kids in the windowsill have become photos of her grandkids. You get a very personal vibe from being there. His new young business partner is awesome as well. I recommend him utterly!
Patsy S. replied:
Uncle D & I use Dr. Sentz, Tudor and Griffin in Warrenton. Have been going there for 20 years!
Donna B. replied:
Hi Rachel - I really like Dr. Flikeid. Don't know if he takes Metlife
