Tim Hockenberry with Home Facts, Inc. out of Vienna. The only good thing we got out of our first realtor. We used Tim three times (long after leaving the realtor:))
Hey FB people -- I'm looking for a home inspector for a condo I'm looking to purchase in DC. Anybody got any recommendations?
Thank you. :-)

I used Jim Vaughn. I was pleased (as a first time buyer) at how thoroughly he went through things with me. He explained what sort of fixes and/or maintenance I would need over time. jim@homeauthority.biz

We used Bob Bailey at United Inspectors Group and he was great. Messaging you his contact info now...

Second Billy Walker at Claxton Walker. Recently did a house inspection for us and absolutely ripped the place apart in the best way possible.
Home Inspector Recommendation Not much to add to the title. Need to get an inspection done (in DC) and it'd be nice to get a perspective other than company websites...

Claxton walker and associates. 5 x more expensive than amerispec. 50 x more thorough and knowledgable. Esp with older homes and major systems.

I was a first time home buyer and he helped me recognize the first house I wanted was really a bad idea (but without saying, don't do it). He is EXTREMELY through. My house I did buy was a flipped house and he still found about $20k worth of things that needed fixed (some extremely serious from a safety perspective, and major violation's of city code). Just be aware, he takes a while because of how in depth he is. In fact, he sent my real estate agent out to get us coffee because he was getting irritated at how long it was taking. It also allowed us time to talk about the pros and cons of the house. However, every extra minute he was spending on site was saving me money in future repairs and fixes. Oh yeah, and everything was extremely well documented.
He is a former navy vet (retired), and doing this as a second career.
Disclosure: I have no relation to him or his business other than being a happy customer.

Cliff Kornegay. Reviewed well on yelp. He took 3 hrs to do our small condo. And did a free follow up.
