Don't know how far you want to go, but some of the top sports medicine (orthopedics) experts in the world are at IU Sports Medicine in Indianapolis.

Dr. Cory Kendall, he is from Washington and I hear nothing but wonderful things about him. He actually takes your own cartilage and grows it in some kind of petri dish and then implants it back into you. He is somewhere around Indy, I will see what I can find out. We have had great luck with Dr. Thorne though and also with Dr. Love in Jasper.
