Hi local friends- does anyone have a recommendation for an allergist that works with difficult cases? A colleague of mine at work has a child with severe food...

Dr. Michael L. Krall, MD, (860) 246-7273, I used him for years, he also specialized in pediatrics.
Here's the one that we went to in Middletown, but they also have offices in Avon, Enfield, Manchester, West Hartford. http://www.ctallergy.net/

Dr Randolph West Main St. WTBY...down the street from POST. Pediatric Allergist. The best.
Curious- has anyone tried OIT for PN or TN allergy? My son's allergist says it's still not a common practice because they don't know for sure if it works. So she doesn't...

my son is in the program and it has been completely life changing! It does work. http://www.nefoodallergy.org/
Susan C. replied:
Agnes, it sounds like your allergist is waiting for enough evidence that it works. Meta-analysis: "Medicine has made increasing use of meta-analysis, largely as a quantitative procedure for combining results of clinical trials. Meta-analysis begins with a comprehensive review of the literature. The next step is a systematic analysis of the quality and content of each study. Finally, results are combined statistically and conclusions are drawn from this new overview of the data." http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC225660/
