Anyone know of a Westland-area restaurant that has good chicken & dumplings? :-þ
Terri L. replied:
I like Cracker Barrel
Ron D. replied:
So I gather it's one of those places like Stuckey's or Nickerson Farms ("Come see the beehives!") along the highway that's a restaurant attached to a gift shop.
Sheila L. replied:
Cracker Barrel is the only restaurant that I know of that has them. If you have a pot you can make the at home. I boil the chicken and then drop in biscuit dough from a tube in small pinches and cook and add a little salt and pepper and they taste great.
Donna G. replied:
Love Cracker Barrels chicken and dumplings. I "think" Steve's in Livonia might have them. I know Steve's has dumpling soup. But I still think Cracker Barrels is the best. There is also a CB in Brighton on way to outlet mall
Kristi H. replied:
The Country Grill on Wayne serves chicken and Dumplings. I haven't had them but the table next to me a week ago ordered them. They came on a huge platter and the people said they were great.
Ron D. replied:
Wow I was expecting some little Country Buffet or a regular eatery around my house, but if you all agree on Cracker Barrel then I guess I'll have to try it.

Sad..I used to be a server at Big Boy in Tucson,, AZ about 35 years ago and that''s gone also. So many great memories...now I realize just what my mom meant "nothing stays the same" she would say.. Shows our age and just so bittersweet. Places come and go, but we have our memories. Gee that new sign just doesn't fit in:'(
