Can anyone recommend an easy, laid-back, not power - yoga class, instructor, or yoga studio in the area? I would like to get back into yoga but am really out of shape,...

Qi flow in Edgewater is fantastic. Try Kylie Larson or Lisa Rundles class. All the instructors have been great. First week is free and then $40 for your first month of unlimited Yoga.

WR Rec Center on Tuesdays at 11:45, "Gentle Yoga" with Amy. I love that class.

The Freyja Project isn't too far away with a pretty diverse selection of classes. They have a free week too.

Vitruvian Fitness has 3 yoga classes each week designed specifically to help your balance, breath, flexibility and core. Totally suitable for beginners with an instructor that will help you progress at your pace. Great community, too! http://vmfit.com/trainers.html
Santosha Yoga on 38 th in Wheat Ridge. The owners, Michelle and Rick, are both great with beginning students and individualizing for students with all different needs. I just can't say enough good things about this studio!
Eileen K. replied:
Agreed Colleen Triplett Villeneuve. I love Santosha Yoga too. Rick and Michelle are great. It is laid back but true yoga. They are about doing the poses correctly, building strength and flexibility. They work with every level and need easily. Try them out!
I know this topic has been visited before, but I thought with the new year coming up it might be helpful again. What are your favorite Yoga studios/instructors/styles? ...
Vanessa B. replied:
I recently discovered Following Bliss Yoga. It's not in WR, it's in Arvada, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the classes. I am pregnant and found it because not many places offer prenatal. I would highly suggest checking them out. Karla is especially great with yoga newbies, and Kim's Monday night candlelight class is so relaxing.

Santosha Yoga on 38 th and Fenton is wonderful yoga studio in Wheat Ridge. I have been going regularly for about 3 years. All of the instructors are amazing and most of them are Iyengar certified and actively pursuing higher certification levels. The y are so kind, encouraging and knowledgeable. They welcome new students and make individual modifications for all levels of students. I love this studio because the classes are a nice balance of men and women of all ages. They provide all the mats and props you need. I am very picky and have never attended a studio regularly until I found this place. I just can't say enough great things! http://www.santoshayogastudio.com/
https://www.facebook.com/colleen.triplettvilleneuve I'm with you and Santosha Yoga. They have a four week beginner's class that is wonderful and kind to your body while you adjust to poses. It starts Jan 7 th 4:30-5:45.

Wide variety of class times, types, and teachers. Also https://www.facebook.com/patty.henry.9041 the owner is honoring passes from Root that just closed. I love it there!:)

I am a "fat chick", if you will...anyone know of any good yoga studios where a full figured woman could practice, feel welcome, not be intimidated/overwhelmed?...

Kula Yoga in Lakewood is awesome.

Container Collective Yoga at 14 th and Ammons is AWESOME! Brittany is amazing and the classes are so inclusive and welcoming! Can't rave enough about them!

I love the smaller classes and welcoming aura at Asana Yoga in Olde Town Arvada. There are people of all shapes and sizes that practice in my classes.
Kristi C. replied:
You should really check out Lisa Griffin Seidel at Catspaw Cushions and Yoga. Seriouisly, you wouldn't be alone as a full figured woman and her prices are very reasonable. She has a Yoga Nidra class tonight (Tuesday) at 6 pm and it would be a great introduction. But contact her so that she knows you're coming!!!
