Does anyone know the best sources to study La Verdadera Destreza (Spanish fencing)? I speak both English and Spanish fluently so sources in either will do. Thanks in...
Here are some Internet spots that might be helpful to your research. https://www.facebook.com/groups/356001691175362/ https://www.facebook.com/SpanishSword/timelinehttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destrezahttp://wiktenauer.com/wiki/Main_Page Most of the original source books are on the Internet as pdf files, either on library websites or on Google/Gutenburg Project/etc. There are quite a few videos on YouTube. Search using "Spanish Rapier", "Spaninsh Rapier Fencing", "Destreza", "La Verdadera Destreza", and "Destreza Fencing".

Fluent Spanish alone won't get you there but the site I linked above has a lexicon of Spanish fencing jargon that will help you unlock the books as you read them. In addition you can read the e-book we wrote here: http://www.freelanceacademypress.com/frompagetopractice.aspx

As a starter text consider Ettenhard's " Compendio de los fundamentos de la verdadera destreza y filosofia de las armas." It's free on google books in Spanish and we have some of it translated here: http://destreza.us/translations/ettenhard.html
