Travelers did the Same thing to me! They didn't even do a repair to my roof And then demanded a receipt for a repair on it. Then they actually thought I was going to keep my car insured with them. I called American Family and they came to me, and had better coverage and better rates!

Don't go with Farmers, they never pay out on roof damage....always find a way to get out of the claim. I've had a horrible experiance with Farmers Insurance when everone else was getting their roofs replaced, Farmers wouldn't. I'm now with State Farm.

I can assist you, in Kansas you need to consider how a company handles wind and hail claims. Most companies can cancel your coverage if you have too many storm claims. I'm an Agent with Farm Bureau and these are all excused claims. I have always been really happy with our rates and service with State Farm. I had them when I lived in Alabama, and transitioned well when we moved to Wichita this past summer. Highly recommend them.

Thanks for all the replies thus far, everyone. Still hoping for someone with a good suggestion for a Farmers agent. But for those of you who recommend a different company - I'd love to know if you've simply been happy with them, or if you have reason to prefer them over others (aka have you tried other companies previously or did you do a lot of checking on rates first before settling where you did?)
