:: Mommy SOS :: (Reader Submitted Question) New to the area, currently 26 weeks pregnant and looking for a great OBGYN to deliver my third child. (Preferably a female)...
Evana T. replied:
Dr. Strecker. She's very nice & softspoken but she takes good care of you. Dr. Daran Jensen at Associates in Women's Health. Although he's a man, he's very professional with a witty sense of humor. Not mention he will jumpstart your labor when it's time. With my youngest child, I went to my final appointment with him,I went from a 1 1/2 to a 3 within a day. A few hrs later my water broke

Byron Cline was great! I had also moved to Wichita at 26 weeks pregnant and he was excellent with that transition and everything!
Bethany F. replied:
What kind of birth are you wanting? It's important to find an OB and birth team that supports what you want. Ask lots of questions, find out their c-section rate, and how they feel about intervention free birth (if that's what you want). The group at Associates in Women's Health are great. Dr. Jensen and Sobbing are VERY good about allowing mom to birth as she wants to and not putting unnecessary restrictions on the mom. I'm a doula in town and would be happy to sit down with you if you'd like to hear more.
Carrie C. replied:

Erin H. replied:
Dr James Whiddon at Heartland Women's group, 96 and Webb. He is very laid back, sense of humor, and personable. I went to Dr Maki at Via Chriti with my first, and she was complete opposite of him. Not impressed with her, and have had a much better experience with Whiddon. He is wonderful!

Lisa B. replied:
Daran Jensen---He isn't female, but he won't ever miss a patient's birth unless he's on vacation. He let me try to deliver the way that I wished even though I had to deliver in the hospital. He let me move around and didn't restrict me to a bed---whi ch resulted in natural births for both of my boys with no pain meds. Different people want different things from their doctor, but this doctor lets you have and follow your birth plan unless you have complications. Great doctor!
We are new to the area and need suggestions for several types of Drs. Does anyone have a recommendation for a dermatologist, an OB/GYN, Chiropractor and allergist (food...
Betty E. replied:
OB/GYN Dr. Jensenhttp://awhobgyn.com/clinicians/jensen.html Chiropractor Dr. Lynette Hendrickson http://www.hendricksonchiropractic.com/index.php She is about a 20 min drive from Wichita, but wonderful. She specializes in maternal chiropratic, and pediatrics. wink emoticon I will be watching for the allergist suggestion. wink emoticon
Katy K. replied:
Dr. Darran Jensen is really a great doctor for delivering babies, especially if you are wanting to go all natural or have a VBAC. Dr. Amy Short is your woman if you just want a excellant gynecologist, who will get to the root cause. She is a believer. Dr. DeGrado, and Dr. Hedricksen are both excellant chiropracters. I have also seen Dr. Jamie Steinmetz in Andover for some pregnancies, and really think highly of him. All of these chiropracters kow the Lord. I have also visited the dermatolgist, Dr. Martha Householder, and she was very kind and used more of a natural approach for some issues that I had. Hope that this helps, welcome to Wichita!
Amy S. replied:
When we lived in Wichita, my OB/GYN was Dr. Zielke on Hillside (the log cabin building not far off Kellogg). LOVED him and his staff!! He's a sole practioner so getting in and out of his office was a breeze; they also did ultrasounds right in the office as well as blood draws!!
Susan S. replied:
Deidre Degrado and Dr. Jensen are both wonderful!
Marialena M. replied:
Chiropractor - I would trust any of the Dopps, although I go to the South Side office & see Dr Long there. Allergist & OB - would you believe my mind is BLANK even though we have both! I will find my paper/phone and get back to you.
Marialena M. replied:
Oh - Dermatologist - MOHLER is supposed to be one of the best in town. I haven't seen him personally, but he is now my FIL's Dr because of skin cancer, and watching my hubby also.
Susan S. replied:
We've been happy with Chrishana Ogalvie-McDaniel, a pediatric allergist, Dr. Scott is in the same office for adults. We haven't worked with him much but I have appreciated him when we have. They are in the Via-Christi network.
Marialena M. replied:
THAT is the allergist I was going to look up! Getting a new patient appointment with her can take a while (I want to say 6 wks from the day it was scheduled. We haven't made it to the app yet!) I've had my middle child at Md Ks Allergy/Asthma, and wh ile the Dr there is good. And he listens. AND he hands out coupons for meds AND gives all the samples he's got, I just haven't quite 'clicked' with him. So we're changing.
Ok, been out of the loop too long. What are some names of some good doctors, preferably in St. Charles Co. I need an allergist, ob/gyn, and a pcp. Thanks in advance.
Lillie D. replied:

Amber S. replied:
Dr. Breit is the dr that cut my abdomen wall when I had a c-section with William! I now go to Wesley Women's Care and see Locke Uppendahl. He did a sono for me really early- especially since I had had miscarriages.
