Obstetricians/Gynecologists (OBGYN) in Williston, ND

Dr. Kadum is the OBGYN at CHI St Alexius in Williston but if you prefer a female there is also Heidi Grondahl, WHNP or Shannon Shepherd, CNM who both work women's health. All are excellent choices. There are a lot of awesome parks in Williston for kids. The ARC has a lot of activities and sports that you can check out and sign up for on their website (for both adults and children). There are a lot of community events that are put on throughout the year.

The Williston Community Library does activities for young kids. Look up their FB page and follow for upcoming classes and events. My girls have enjoyed going! Dark Acres pumpkin patch opens in the fall with lots of activities for young kids as well as older. In December there are Christmas lights and activities at Spring Lake Park. There are 2 MOPs (Mothers of Preschoolers) groups in town that I know of. One at Life Church Assembly and one at New Hope church. A great place to go to meet other moms.

Great Plains Womens Health Center is pretty great! The pumpkin patch in town in October is actually really awesome. Especially for kids!

Pediatrician, I would go with Dr. Ponzio or Dr. Mulu at CHI St. Alexius. Also, gynecologist, Shannon Shepard at CHI. SHE IS WONDERFUL!!!!

Melissa Brown Kendall can help you with preschool. My son loved having her as a teacher. And I definitely second Dr Ponzio for a pediatrician, we don't use anyone but her, she's great.

Definitely Dr. Tong. Dr. Tong has been the only OB/GYN that listened to me and actually took action to help me. Other doctors I saw previous to her always told me I was too young for the problems I was experiencing. She takes the time to work with you to find solutions rather than just throw medication at you and send you on your way. I can't tell you about the other doctors there, but I'm sure they're great also!!

Dr Tong. She delivered my first child and will deliver my second! She's very smart and extremely nice. I had an ovarian cyst in my first pregnancy and the dr I started with never caught it and she did, so I switched to her.

Dr Solberg is wonderful. But I like all of them at Great Plains.

Dr. Sara Solberg at Great Plains is who I trust as my primary. Especially after she targeted complications resulting in emergency c-section. Professional, female (a requirement for me also) and great bedside manner making you feel comfortable even in discussions that would otherwise be uncomfortable. She truly listens!

I go to Great Plains also. My primary is Dr Solberg tho. But every one I have seen there is great!

Out of the 2 I saw, Dr Tong was natural friendly and Dr Loo was a pitocin pusher.

My wife and I have many reasons to like and care about Dr Tong.

Dr Tong all the way!! I had two babies in the last two years ALL natural and she has been amazing, whether you go natural or not. And when i was having issues trying to get pregnant in the first place Dr Tong, her nurse Alicia and the whole staff were so caring. Also the rest of the doctors at Great Plains are great so if you need something and Tong is not available you are covered by Solberg and the others. And my recommendation comes not only as a patient but as a nurse, I work at the hospital and have had some of her post-op patients on my floor, she truly is the best

Look up willistonparks.com. It lists all of the activities for youth. I am farely new to the area as well and have 3 boys 6, 5, and 22 months.

Dr. Tong at great plains is AMAZING! goes over everything and answers every question. I lost my first son to heart disease and my other kids tried coming early so she did extra ultrasounds every month and I had a shot every month to prevent early labor. She's so great!

Dr. Twigg in Sidney is very good. Well worth the drive. My husband really liked her too. She delivered our second child.

I loved Dr. Newton. She was patient the whole two days while I was in labor and was great when we had to do a c-section. I was nervous to have a baby here but we have nothing but good things to say about our care here.

I had Dr. Newton for my pregnancy and delivery. I really enjoyed her. She was super helpful and even in labor she cheered me on like a mother cheers on her child at their first sports game lol. Everyone is different tho. That's just my opinion. I was at a high risk for a c section the entire time and she did every thing she could tl make sure that didn't happen.

I have 5 kids and I absolutely LOVE Dr. Solberg to the moon and back!! I live in Minot now and I'd travel back to Williston to see her again!! I've also had great experience with Dr Lou!

I had to see Dr Adum for my first OB appt. and she seemed to be a very good OB Doc.

I have to protest for Dr. Adum. I was a little unsure of what I thought about her at thr beginning of my pregnancy. But I was also unsure of what to expect at any apt. but I can tell you one thing. I don't think there was a happier moment in my labor then when she walked through the door. She was awesome and patient with me and I felt super lucky to have my practioner deliver my son.

I go to Dr. Newton and I think she is amazing! This is my first pregnancy and she has always answered every question and has always made me feel very comfortable I did see Dr. Adum once too and I liked her as well

I had Dr. Newton at great plains, I really liked her, but when I delivered I had Dr. Tong. My delivery was horrible, not because of my doctor but because it was soooo busy with others coming in for labor as well. If your up for travel I heard sidney is good, not as busy and you will have the full attention from your nurse/dr.

I drive all the way to Sidney. Had a bad experience at the womens clinic and I swear the drive is worth it for the best doctor, Dr. Twigg.

I see Dr Adum. I really really liked her during my pregnancy and still do after, but I did NOT like her what so ever while I was in labor. She was really impatient and rude, and didn't respect my birth plan at all. Dr Loo ended up on call, and she delivered me and was absolutely amazing. I definitely reccomend her. And I've heard nothing but good about Dr Solberg. Good luck! It's hard picking a doctor for this journey!

Dr. Wiens did a really good job he was patient And explained everything really well. I recommend him.

Dr Solberg was my Dr but tong did my emergency csection and saved me and my babies lives. My second pregnancy was high risk twins and Solberg was awsome start to finish. I wouldn't trust me or my babies with anyone other than Solberg or tong!!!

I am seeing Dr. Adum for my pregnancy right now.. She is sooo nice! At first when I started reading about her in delivery I was like but then the other good comments about her reassured me glad I have her as my doc! And I hope she's on call when I go into labor..

Everyone has a different opinion of doctors, but I'd for sure give Dr Tong a try and if you don't like her I'd try craven hagen, I know I defiantly wouldn't like driving to Minot to see a Dr. But everyone is different. Good luck(:

I have Dr Twigg currently and have never had a problem with her, recently I've had Dr Burwell though who is also great. Tonya at the desk is super helpful and I love having Deb as my nurse! Everyone has their own experiences though.

I don't know if I went to a different Craven Hagan than you guys got that I didn't, but I'm kinda jealous. With my daughter who was born in 2013 and my son who is due next month I only got the 20 week ultrasound. Maybe you just get more if you're high risk? I see Dr Mead now and I really like him. He never seams like he's in a rush to push you out the door and really takes the time to listen to any concerns or questions I might have. And I absolutely LOVE his nurse Lynn! She is so sweet and helpful.

Everyone will have different opinions about provider. It's best to check for yourself to see what works for you! Another thing people need to realize, is when you start saying negative things on any public site, you can get in trouble legally if the person you talking about wants to pursue it. Look up slander and libel if you don't know what I'm talking about. The ladies at Great Plains are great and so is Dr. Mead at Craven Hagan. There is also a new OB at Craven Hagan, his name is Dr. Kadum.

Dr. Mead just delivered my princess a week ago! Very smart. Definitely knows what he's doing. AND all the nurses really like him and were telling me how good at his job he is.

I go to Great Plains and it's been great for me. I've had 3 ultrasounds. Every doctor I've seen and the nurses have been great. I don't know why some people hate it so much? They've been nothing but great to me. The only thing I can think of is they ma ke you do a pre-ob apt and see what your insurance covers and whatever it doesn't you have to pay every month. Only thing I can think of? I havnt had to deal with any bs there at all

Dr Kadum at CHC just started. He is looking to take on more patients.

Dr Solberg at GP just delivered me a month ago and I absolutly loved her. I tried to get into Sidney first and they wouldn't take me. Dr Solberg took me on at 32 weeks though and although I was a little turned off by a few of the nurses just because of them being rushed and impersonal I had a few that were amazing, and I absolutly loved Dr Solberg. I am high risk because of gestational diabetes so I get a rediculous amount of ultrasounds but with both my Dr's in Miles City only the anatomy scan around 20 weeks is the only one they do with a "normal" healthy pregnancy.

Dr Mead just delivered me a week ago and he is a very knowledgeable dr but if you are concerned about something- you sometimes have to press the issue to get him to listen.

I'm on my third pregnancy with Great Plains Dr. Tong is my primary, but ive never had a problem with the other doctors ! I would never go anywhere else!!!

I loved Dr. Newton! She was my primary and she delivered my daughter after a difficult labor. I have nothing but nice things to say about my care here in Williston.

I'm at 24 weeks and see Dr. Mead at Craven-Hagan. I haven't had any issues. I had an early ultrasound to determine the due date and the 20 week ultrasound to check the anatomy. They are very accommodating for scheduling for a teacher near the end of the day.

Just want to add that I loved all the staff in Sidney! All of my prenatal care was fantastic. I just experienced and have found it common that women are induced and have c sections under Dr.Twiggs care. I am not a doctor so I won't comment on induction. I will say that I love her staff, the nurses at the Sidney hospital. I will not choose to have another baby there again.

Dr. Mead is pretty great. I'm seeing him right now and so far we've got along pretty well. Usually you'll get as many ultrasounds as your insurance covers unless medically necessary. It's typically 1 or 2. Fair light is now $175 for the 3D/4D ultrasound. I just made my gender determination appt last week and they upped their prices.

If you are trying to stay in Williston Dr.Mead seems like a great provider at Craven Hagan. He seems very mother-friendly making joint decisions. smile emoticon

Dr. Newton has been my OBGYN for years.... And when I got pregnant, She took good care of me... My daughter was breech and I am extremely plus size.. No matter what my daughter would NOT turn..so I had a c section and she absolutely DID NOT want me to have to have a c section. She never forced a c section on me, and always wanted me to have a natural birth. But that wasn't in the plans.... I did end up with an infection(I have a over hang, So I had to have my mom/sister clean my wound.) and she took good care of me for 3 months after wards cleaning/packing and making sure I was okay. I was able to call her directly at home also if I needed her. Everyone has their own opinions of each doctor, And everyone has different outcomes per doctors. For me, I love Dr.Newton and she has always been amazing to me and my entire family. ❤ (Not disagreeing or trying to start a argument with anyone..this is my own opinion of dr.newton) Dr. Adum is also very friendly & she was with Dr Newton doing my c-section.

Great Plains is considered a specialty clinic and there rates are much higher. I suggest kadum or Shannon Shepard. Also, call them to make sure they would even see you as a new patient.

I had Dr Weins at Craven hagen. I loved him. But Dr Newton was the on call Dr while I was on labor. She was so sweet and caring. Constantly checking on me when the nurses did. Dr Solberg wound up delivering my munchkin tho. I recommend all three:)

I don't want a c section unless absolutely necessary and I do want to have access to an epidural when I feel I need it. Those are my main concerns about the birth. I don't want to be told what to do with MY body or be forced into any of that. I've heard horror stories. And I'm terrified. I want it to be all about me and my baby, and not about what's easy for them. Even if that sounds selfish. So thanks everyone for the comments, I think I'm going to go with either Dr. Tong or Dr. Newton

Dr. Tong is awesome! She did my csection. Dr. Newton was the on call dr when I was in labor and i loved her!! Dr.Adum is my original dr and she is fantastic!!

I was at Great Plains and I just switched over to the new midwife in town Shannon Sheppard at mercy! She's amazing and everything I have wished for and more! However, I've heard amazing things about Newton, Tong & Solberg at Great Plains. I had DR. Adum and just couldn't connect with her and being 28 weeks along I thought that was an issue & needed to switch my care to someone else.

Dr Kadum is amazing. He is all for letting a woman have the pregnancy and birth they want and is not big on medical intervention if it isn't absolutely necessary. I would see him again in a heartbeat if I were to have another child.

Dr. Solberg or Dr. Adum are both great at Great Plains Womens Health Clinic. Solberg delivered both my babes and is so kind and compassionate. And Adum is just great. Very detailed. Straight forward which is something I appreciate from a doc.

Dr.Kadum tried to put me into surgery without even knowing what exactly I had, he even dare to say that their was no other solution. Well, guess what? He was totally wrong! DRs can make mistakes because the are humans after all, but in my case, I can say he was not professional at all, the information he gave me was totally wrong and was pushing me to get surgery. thanks to Dr David Billings in Minot, I am completely fine now and did not end up paying thousands on medical bills for a not needed surgery. Billings is amazing, so caring and professional and he would not let you leave his office with questions. Ladies, always get a second opinion and DO YOUR RESEARCH! Internet is an amazing tool. There is more than social media out there!

Dr. Kadum at the chi clinic. He is very honest and blunt. He wont just milk your insurance. He also did both of my surgerys and saved my life. Couldnt have asked for a better doctor.

Dr. Adum is currently on leave but I love all the ob's at Great Plains. They are great!!

Dr. Adum is Awesome. She is at Great Plains. I recently had female problems and other doctors were blaming my Thyroid but she went deeper and found pour that I had Endometrial cancer and it is very rare for someone my age to get that so if she would not have looked deeper into things it probably would not have been caught till it was to late. She was quick to refer me to a a gynecologist in billings that specializes in female cancer and who did a hysterectomy quick and saved me from having to do any chemo or radiation & I am now cancer free. So for that reason I will recommend her completely!!!

A real Good Eye doctor is Dr.Brenno at Williston eye clinic

Dr. Burke is a good dentist too.

I loved Dr. Solberg as an OBGYN! She always took her time with me which says a lot for Doctors around here.

Any family practice doc can set you up with birth control of some kind. There's also the OB/GYNs at Craven Hagan.
