Asking for a friend...
Can anyone in the Triad recommend a good CPA? And I mean CPA--not H&R Block. We need to have our tax return reviewed. I really don't want to...
Kimberly S. replied:
Cannon and Company. I work on the retirement and investing side, but the CPA side is incredible. The down side is with this stage of the game, you may be looking at a extension in order to find a possible error in your calculations. It's crazy time right now in the office, but they are not an H & R Block.

Joe Hart is a tax attorney and serves both the English and Spanish members of our community. He's a bit shy, but he is honest as the day is long and he does his best. He's served my company (Majestic Endeavours) for the past fifteen years....I highly recommend him and his services.
Need recommendations for an accountant that is:
1. Trustworthy
2. Knowledgeable about write-offs
3. Reasonably priced
4. Local
Thanks for any suggestions!

For the right CPA and practice, Guilford College is "local"... Pam Alexander (336) 617-8382 Our daughter & SIL have complex returns (multiple employers, side businesses, rental income, multiple states, etc.), live in SC, and choose to use Pam. http://www.longandalexander.com

So you use the federal online tax prep and then use Turbo Tax for State?
Jennifer E. replied:
No I use Turbo tax for both......I get the money direct deposited into my savings account
Kevin T. replied:
How do you get the Federal free then? All I can find is Turbo Tax Federal for $74.95 (for the addition I would need) then you have to buy the State for about $30
Jennifer E. replied:
We have always used Turbo Tax. Much easier than anything else from what I hear and my hubby is self employed and we have a lot of write offs
Kevin T. replied:
Do you have to buy the State separate from the Federal with Turbo Tax?
Kevin T. replied:
I think I'm going to try Liberty Tax service on their military appreciation week for free. I worry that you get what you pay for
Mandie R. replied:
I've used Tax Slayer.com for years, but because of the insurance and solar tax credits this year, I'm using Alicia's mom - Sue Lounsberry. I'm doing as much as I can myself, then txfr to her.
