OP update: "I called the Lyhurst group and they told me no because I've had 2 C-sections. The only doctor so far I've been able to find is a Dr. Dorn in High Point, NC. has anyone ever heard of him?"
Jessica J. replied:
I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Dorn!

I just had a VBA2C in eastern NC. I had to drive two hours and change providers at 37 weeks, but I did it! If I can make it happen here, you should be able to find someone in your area.:) I know of a midwife in Virginia. I'd have too check how far she is from you though. And if you came towards me, I know of an awesome doula, Erin Clark Reece. She could help you in Greenville, NC.

I posted a comment about Dr. Dorn. He tends to be very hands off and VBAC supportive and used to be the backing physician for quite a few of the homebirth midwives in NC before pressure from the NC Medical Board caused most homebirth CNMs to shut down.

The birth center is amazing! I love love love the midwives and the OB! I gave birth at the center itself (first birth) but I was very comfortable knowing the hospital was around the corner since my labor was, well, kind of complicated. Completely midwife attended but the OB is always available if the need arises. It's called Natural Beginnings.

Have you tried Viki Latham at central carolina ob Gyn? She might do it? She's great!

Natural Beginnings Birth Center in statesville. I had a successful vbac with them last year. I drive over an hour from Charlotte to there & it's totally worth it. You can also deliver in a hospital with them. I know that they do VBAC2's, just have to go see them to see if you're a good candidate. They have two midwives Marcia Ensminger and Nicole Winecoff & they are both excellent.

I hear a lot of good things about the birth center in Statesville. It's a little bit of a drive but I know of women in Greensboro (where I live) driving out there. There is also a birth center in Chapel Hill but Statesville will be a lot closer for you. Also, I hear good things about Dr. Dorn. I think he's in High Point.

I'm in Winston-Salem. I definitely say Doctor Dorn, or the Natural Beginnings on Statesville. We still Homebirth but if you want the details on that, you are more than welcome to PM me.

There are no out of hospital CNMs in NC that are legally able to attend VBAC clients currently who have not had a successful VBAC. Have you checked with your local ICAN chapter? Dr. Dorn in High Point may be an option as well as the Women's Hospital in Greensboro. I realize that's a drive for you, but it's worth it:)
