Cary Grant is easily one of the most celebrated actors of all time. People still talk about him to this day and he's been dead for decades. No worries about him not getting his time in the sun. Kerwin Mathews, as far as I can tell isn't a very convincing actor. I think you just prefer the style of those old movies and you're attributing those fond feelings to acting that is largely stilted and unnatural. R. Lee Ermey isn't really acting, either. He does the same character all the time, which is just a magnified version of himself. It's strange to me that you'd call out movies for being action/explosions/stunt men when you're talking about Hoffman, considering his movies weren't that at all. The only really traditional action movie he did was Mission Impossible, and in that movie he was at his most threatening and intense when he didn't have any weapons at all.
Christopher A. replied:
there isn't to my knowledge a score chart scoring actors cause they are all different. Of course its all opinion. I still don't PSH was anything special. I'm not gonna jump on the band wagon and change my mind cause he died, i honestly don't care, it didn't ruin my day. I'm not gonna change my statement cause people disagree, i don't give a shit. My opinions and taste has never been in common with most people. I never stated that this wasn't about opinion in any way. What you said about Kerwin Mathews is how i feel about PSH, there wasnt anything special "in my opinion".
