Ted with Pet Plan. Bit expensive at about £65 pm but is a covered for life policy upto 7 k a year. In 2 years they have paid out over 7 k with no questions. My other dogs Co I would avoid pet-insurance.co.uk
Pam L. replied:
George is with Pet Protect. They wouldn't pay for George's lungworm treatment because they said it was preventable (£700) and they didn't pay for the treatment he had when he had the runs when we first got him (£400) as they said it was an existing con dition. The vet is supposedly trying to get them to change their mind about the lungworm decision as she says there are loads of things that are deemed preventable that are covered so this decision doesn't make sense. But I think it's all hot air. The vet should have picked it up much earlier than they did and it ended up costing me a fortune because they didn't. She's just diverting attention away from that I think. Kennel Club Insurance are never off the phone but pushiness always puts me off.
Can anyone recommend a good pet insurance company? Thanks
Stevette P. replied:
Animal Friends are superb and a fraction of the cost of Petplan etc for same cover!
Taylor A. replied:
Our vet won't deal directly with Animal Friends. Petplan are the only ones they deal with as they are less hassle than the rest.

Pet Plan:)

I use www.pet-insurance.co.uk lots of people have bad things to say about these to but we have not had a problem claiming so far. I used to use petplan but they are 4 times the price of what we pay now and we did have issues with them on one dog but not the other.
