Glenn Brown....I don't think I have seen plantation shutters without center bar...how would they open??? also when you have the divisions in the window (muttons I think they were called) do you think that adds too much distraction from the horizontal lines of the shutters??? We are thinking of these shutters too.....thanks

Carolina Shutters & Blinds just installed cafe plantation shutters for us on Friday. They make them locally and the quality is much nicer then Budget Blinds we had previously. Carpenter bees are excellent pollinators of eggplant, tomato and other vegetables and many types of flowers.The article I read says to paint your wood with some type of polyurethane- I am cautious and am uncomfortable with them too... but I am also getting uncomfortable with killing every thing that pollinates our plants ( believe me - I am not judging- I kill a lot of wasp and such, and always have!! ) http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/galveston/beneficials/beneficial-63_pollinators-_carpenter_bees.htm

Called Brett with urban wildlife, he does not do carpenter bees, only honey bees. He said he did do them last year but is not doing them this year. Have left a message triangle wildlife, hoping they do them.
