Dr. Ballestin is a good vet. He has taken care of my dogs for many years now. He is realistic about how much the average person has to spend on the care of their animals. He is gentle and kind to the animals.

Kind to people too. One 4 th of July many years ago my ex and I called Dr. B. as our aged cat was obviously dying. We both cried all the way from Gazelle to the doctor's office. My ex went in with the cat and ex came out saying, "That man is so kind - thank god we knew who he was ahead of the incident!!" Luv

Try calling Shasta Valley Vet in Montague. They should have an after hours number. Or they did last I checked... it will be an extra charge. If they don't have an after hours number, just go thru the phone book and find all the vets in the area and call. I THINK that the vet in Ft. Jones (I can't remember his name) has after hours visits, but I am not 100%. Call around. I hope you figure it out. =/

Art Spencer in fort jones usually takes emergencies. Call them. Medford vet totally overcharges and takes forever. Charged me $600 for X-rays and a morphine shot when my pup broke his leg.

I agree that Dr. Spencer is fantastic, but a warning....he can be a bit cantankerous! However, he is an amazing vet and his techs are great also. He put our guy back together after a horrendous injury to his neck. It was a miracle.

Dr. Richard Hendrickson@American Veterinary on Greenhorn. He diagnosed my dog with Lar Par. I can't speak for him, as to whether he performs the surgery or not.

Southern Oregon Vet Specialists are the only ones qualified in the area to do the tieback. I had it done on my 12 year old female lab a couple years ago. Fairly easy to diagnose for any vet I think. The tieback procedure is not so easy, however. Feel free to PM me with any questions. The surgery was very successful.
