Can anyone point me in the direction of a low cost vet in the area? I just need a simple heart worm test that isn't attached to an office fee.

Dr Lewis only charged us 300 for 7 dogs to get their shots and that was him coming to our house. . Its about 60 fire the first shots
Marie C. replied:
I second Dr Lewis. We have always used him and he is mobile. I definitely suggest getting the pup checked out for health but if ur concerned about needing shots now and cheap, you can buy them for like $10 at the feed store and administer urself. Its easy and cost effective. smile emoticon
BettySue H. replied:
Lola Lola Roberts White . I already had one chihauhau and he was my first inside dog but after finding out about the one that needed a home decided to get him a little brother. Tucker is on the left - I think he likes his new home and Tebow is on the right. They are definitely Mommy's Little Boys.
Peggy R. replied:
Dr Mike at Full Circle, call him - 879-1025 - He was wonderful, and really low priced - when I took in a dog that needed much surgery and antibiotics, he kept her for 2 weeks, did the surgery, took wonderful care of her....He and his staff were awesome . Sad to say, the lady that gave her to me had Dr Lewis come look at her, she was full of infection and her whole side, the skin was ripped from front shoulder to back hip....he gave the dog a rabie's shot, some antibiotics and told the lady surgery wasn't necessary!! I'll never call him for a dog!!!!!! Dr Mike kept her until the infection was clear, then did her surgery and kept her for a few more days!

Dr Kim@. Nassau Vet she has taken care of my baby since he was 3 months old. He is 5 now. Very great trusting vet!
Laurie R. replied:
I second the recommendation for First Coast No More Homeless Pets. I have a dog that has health issues, repeated test after test after test with local vets, without results. FCNMHP diagnosed my pet and we are now on the road to recovery. Wait times may be a bit longer than in a traditional office setting, drive isn't bad (just down 95), staff is great and prices are very reasonable.
Tracy C. replied:
Dr Kim Carter at Nassau Vet on 17 in Yulee... reasonable cost and has always been right on the mark caring for our 7 dogs.

It came to my attention last night that out of ALL the veterinarians we have here on the island, if our dog gets sick or injured on a Saturday night or Sunday we have to...
Mac M. replied:
4 Paws on US17 has 24/7 emergency service. Have used their service and recommend them. Dr Jason did a great job on my Li'l Ankle Biter!
Betsy W. replied:
I know that it is not on the island, but my vet provides emergency care. 548-0015. Drs. Norstrud and Arbo. Been a client for 10 years. You should switch!
Gerry C. replied:
There is a van I've seen in Fernandina called Amelia Mobile Vet, but I don't know if they are any good. I would assume if I left a message on my vet's phone in an emergency, they would have someone on call, no? My vet is Fernandina Animal Clinic on 14 th Street. I think they are also open Saturday mornings.
Anne D. replied:
I use Dr. Lewis, of Mobile Vet. Services. He's great! Lives in Hilliard, and thank goodness, we haven't had an emergency yet, but I'd bet he'd come if needed.

Robbin S. replied:
We use 4 Paws, off of 17. They have a 24 hour vet on call and will give you advice even if your cat is not their patient. The number is 904-548-0015
LJ G. replied:
Cat Clinic of Fernandina off of Old Nassauville. Tell then money is an issue and they will give you options on treatment. You'd think a cat specialist would be more than a regular vet but not true, and they KNOW cats.
Does anyone know a good vet that is reasonable to get your cat spayed in the Yulee area
Penny L. replied:
It's free in March at No More Homeless Pets in North Jax.
Jennifer R. replied:
Check out Friends of Animals certificates. It is a total of $85 for Spaying a female and that covers everything. There are a couple vet in Nassau County that accept them. It covers pre-surgery blood work, surgery, anesthesia. I used them with my dogs in NY, but they are down here too. https://friendsofanimals.org/directory/?address=32097&directory_radius=20¢er=30.6487176%2C-81.62542830000001&address_type=
Lucy N. replied:
You get what you pay for!! Dr. Ashley Mercereau is who I would recommend for any cat surgery. There aren’t any vets in Yulee that offer low fee spay/neuter. FCNMHP IS NOT a good option. They are cheap, and you get what you pay for.
Jean S. replied:
Call Cats Angels
Angela A. replied:
There are some awesome vets in the area, but for spaying they will be costly. You could try RCCAH. https://rccah.org/calendar/spay-day-locations/
Katie M. replied:
Dr. Arbo at 4 Paws Pet Care Clinic on 17.
Brenda P. replied:
Talk to Cats Angels. They use them for all the cats they pick up and they will also take your cat along with theirs if you have it set up through Cats Angels in Fernandina.
